Another late night rush to deadline

Tuesday, March 13th, 2012

Deadline for Issue No. 135 has just passed but we’re still not quite done with it. Another late night tonight and I think we can send it off in the morning. There’s always something that has to be tweaked. Silveira and I edited each other’s commentaries and found faults with both that had to be changed. After 23 years, deadline never really seems to change.

Humless saves the BHM editorial!

Monday, March 12th, 2012

Big windstorm tonight and we’ve had a power blackout in my part of southwest Oregon for the last few hours. I’ve been happily working away thanks to my Humless Sentinel portable power backup system so I can finish my editorial which is due tomorrow morning.

I’ve got my computer and a light plugged into it, and have just now plugged in my Droid and electric lantern to recharge them. Very handy! I’m glad Humless decided to advertise with the magazine. Everything is completed for the next  issue except my editorial and John Silveira’s Last Word column. Oh, oh! John doesn’t have a Humless. Let him explain that to Annie in the morning.

Getting desperate for a Ron Paul win

Monday, March 5th, 2012

I’ve donated to Ron Paul four times during his presidential run. All small amounts, but I just felt I had to put my money where my heart was. I know he won’t win but I’m hoping he can persuade the winner, which I assume will be Mitt Romney, to embrace some Libertarian ideas when it comes to the economy.

Gingrich and Santorum aren’t interested in what Ron Paul has to say. That leaves Romney. As liberal a Republican as Romney is, I guess I have no choice but to try and influence him. Miracles can happen! Romney is a businessman, and he appears to be honest. I hope he is also courageous because it will take courage to do what has to be done, which is to allow capitalism to pick the winners and losers, not Government intervention.

If you’d like to donate and try and bring off this miracle, click here.
