Dave Duffy is founder, publisher, and editor of Backwoods Home Magazine. He and his wife, Ilene, three teenage sons, Jake, Rob, and Sam, and daughter, Annie, 28, live in Gold Beach, Oregon. Annie, who is married to Erik Tuttle, is now managing editor of the magazine.

He is a former newspaper reporter for various daily newspapers in Massachusetts, Nevada, and California, and a former technical writer and editor for the Department of Defense. He is author of two books, The Retirement Threat (1977) and Can America Be Saved from Stupid People (2007).
