Finished zuca (long ago)

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

Susanna brought it to my attention that I had never posted a finished picture of the zuca bag I was working on last year. Oops!

So here it is. I finished it in October, and mailed it off ages ago. Over all, I’m very pleased with my work, but there are a few things I could have done better/differently. I should have studied the Zuca website much more, because they show a lot of detail on their bag inserts. I would have changed my design a bit if I had looked carefully first. I also struggled a lot with how to attach the bag to the frame. And lastly, I should have thought about how I would line the bag before I assembled the zipper panel. In the end I realized that I should have lined and interfaced each piece of vinyl individually before assembling the bag, but of course it was too late by then. I do hope the bag will see a lot of use. It was a challenging project, but I think it turned out great!
