I took a walk around Gold Beach today to discover that our recent wind and rain storm was even more severe than I had thought. Some of the downtown buildings had their roofs blown off. A church had a tree fall through its roof. Some places had the walls peeled off. I’ve never seen wind peel off a wall. We’re lucky our BHM building did so well. We only had some metal flashing on the roof edges straightened up, as if it had been pried up by a crowbar. The wind must have been trying to get a grip on our roof to blow it off.
