Ron Paul gave this talk a few days ago. I agree with it completely.

I do too. The New Boss… Same as the old Boss… Actually worse. He wants a civilian security force equal to the military (can you say Hitler youth?), mandatory military service… I’ll stop now before I get too upset. The almost religious grip he has on people is what’s really scary. Did you see the creepy pledge Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore made? I thought the president was there to serve the people, not the other way around.
What will it take to wake people up?

Hi Dave,
You’re taking the words right out of my mouth on a lot of this. I just read about HR 46 today via another blog (http://wildcraft.gaelicmysts.com/2009/01/26/guns-gone-in-2009/). I am trying to find out if this file of the bill is legit before I go off emailing legislators :

Any ideas? The only news I get over here in the APO is AFN….and they are busy showing stuff from the Inauguration still, along with news rolls that were shown a month ago about folks doing training. Had trouble finding it on the NRA site so far, hoping they will post about it soon. If you, Mas Ayoob, or anyone else have a lead on this, I’d appreciate help so I can start spreading the word. Methinks it’d be just a *slight* violation of privacy and States’ rights, whether folks are gun owners or not. They may want to be if this is what we’re up against for the next 4 years.

I agree with Brogan’s sentiments and your as well Mr. Duffy. I get quite upset when I read about the willful ignorance in our society and the lack of desire for citizens to once again become vigilant. Things will get quite a bit worse before there is hope for a better day. It is our individual responsibility to be prepared for that time and not to be burdens on society. Things will not change until our own homes are in order so it is important, at this point in the game, not to get distracted by national politics and become more self reliant.

Melonie: The House of Representatives has its own records-keeping site, http://thomas.loc.gov
Is this the same bill: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c111:H.R.45.IH:
There’s also a watchdog website, http://www.govtrack.us which shows the current status of whatever bill you’re looking for, http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-45
There are several scary bills that were introduced in the past month. H.R. 645 opens the way for concentration camps.
