I will be speaking at the Northern Plains Sustainable Agriculture Conference

This great event will be held at Aberdeen, South Dakota, January 27th and 28th at the Ramkota Inn. On Friday, I’ll be speaking on backyard fruit production. Saturday will be a full one for me, as I’ll be speaking on canning meat, meals-in-a-jars, and then, later on, herbs. I’d love to meet you there! Here’s the link: www.npsas.org — if you think you might like to come. Of course, there are lots of other speakers as well for you to enjoy and learn from.

I’d also like to remind you that there are a few spaces left for our May homesteading seminar here at the homestead. We are more than half full, so if you’d like to come, please get in your reservations to avoid disappointment. (Remember that we can only take 20 people!) — Jackie

Wish you could get on the agenda for the Ag Sustainable Conference held out of Fairbanks, AK. They need some encouragement. Although we have left there and are now living in Ohio, getting ready to start all over again, we still have our hearts there with our friends and extended family. What a thrill it would be for everyone.

maybe you could video your speeches and put them on your blog.

  3. Beth Simpson Says:

Jackie, I am reading 2010 blogs and someone had written you about canning green tomatoes. I haven’t canned them but my aunts do tons! They cut them in slices, can them then take them from the jars and make fried green tomatoes. They make PLATTERS of them at Christmas. This is a very popular way (here in Kentucky) of using up the green tomatoes before the frost hits them.

How I wish I could go! Hope to hear you’ll be in AZ or NM sometime in the future. I’m in northern AZ and would gladly road trip to see you. I bought your books for a dear aunt who introduced me to you and Backwoods Home and look forward to ordering my own set in coming months. Sure appreciate you and wish you well!

  5. Annie Says:

Can’t wait to see you next weekend! I have your sessions circled in the conference book.
