View Full Version : Jay Leno says..........

Buck

Jay Leno wrote this; it's the Jay Leno we
don't often see....

As most of you know I am not a President Bush fan,
nor have I ever been, but this is not about Bush, it is
about us, as Americans, and it seems to hit the mark
'The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine and
came across some Poll data I found rather hard to believe.
It must be true given the source, right?
The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of
Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is
headed and 69 percent of the country is unhappy with the
performance of the President. In essence 2/3 of the
citizenry just ain't happy and want a change. So being
the knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, 'What are
we so unhappy about?''

A.. Is it that we have electricity and running
water 24 hours a day, 7 Days a week?

B.. Is our unhappiness the result of having air
conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter?

C.. Could it be that 95.4 percent of these unhappy
folks have a job?

D.. Maybe it is the ability to walk into a
grocery store at any time and see more food in moments
than Darfur has seen in the last year?

E.. Maybe it is the ability to drive our cars and
trucks from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean without
having to present identification papers as we move through
each state?

F.. Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe
motels we would find along the way that can provide
temporary shelter?

G.. I guess having thousands of restaurants with
varying cuisine from around the world is just not good
enough either.

H. Or could it be that when we wreck our car,
emergency workers show up and provide services to help all
and even send a helicopter to take you to the hospital.

I.. Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of
Americans who own a home.

J.. You may be upset with knowing that in the
unfortunate case of a fire, a group of trained firefighters
will appear in moments and use top notch equipment to
extinguish the flames, thus saving you, your family, and
your belongings.

K.. Or if, while at home watching one of your
many flat screen TVs, a burglar or prowler intrudes, an
officer equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof vest will
come to defend you and your family against attack or loss.

L.. This all in the backdrop of a neighborhood
free of bombs or militias raping and pillaging the
residents. Neighborhoods where 90% of teenagers own cell
phones and computers.

M.. How about the complete religious, social and
political freedoms we enjoy that are the envy of everyone
in the world?

Maybe that is what has 67% of you folks unhappy.

Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful,
spoiled brats the world has ever seen. No wonder the world
loves the U.S. , yet has a great disdain for its citizens.
They see us for what we are. The most blessed people in the
world who do nothing but complain about what we don't
have, and what we hate about the country instead of
thanking the good Lord we live here.

I know, I know. What about the president who took
us into war and has no plan to get us out? The president
who has a measly 31 percent approval rating? Is this the
same president who guided the nation in the dark days after
9/11? The president that cut taxes to bring an economy out
of recession? Could this be the same guy who has been
called every name in the book for succeeding in keeping all
the spoiled ungrateful brats safe from terrorist attacks?
The commander in chief of an all-volunteer army that is out
there defending you and me?

Did you hear how bad the President is on the news
or talk show? Did this news affect you so much, make you so
unhappy you couldn't take a look around for yourself
and see all the good things and be glad? Think about
it......are you upset at the President because he actually
caused you personal pain OR is it because the
'Media' told you he was failing to kiss your sorry
ungrateful behind every day. Make no mistake about it.

The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have
volunteered to serve, and in many cases may have died for
your freedom. There is currently no draft in this country.
They didn't have to go. They are able to refuse to go
and end up with either a ''general''
discharge, an 'other than honorable'' discharge
or, worst case scenario, a ''dishonorable''
discha rge after a few days in the brig.

So why then the flat-out discontentment in the
minds of 69 percent of Americans?

Say what you want but I blame it on the media.
If it bleeds it leads and they specialize in bad news.
Everybody will watch a car crash with blood and guts. How
many will watch kids selling lemonade at the corner? The
media knows this and media outlets are for-profit
corporations. They offer what sells, and when criticized,
try to defend their actions by 'justifying' them
in one way or another. Just ask why they tried to allow a
murderer like O.J. Simpson to write a book about how he
didn't kill his wife, but if he did he would have done
it this way......Insane!

Turn off the TV, burn Newsweek, and use the New York Times
for the bottom of your bird cage. Then start being
grateful for all we have as country. There is exponentially
more good than bad. We are among the most blessed people on
Earth and should thank God several times a day, or at least
be thankful and appreciative.' 'With hurricanes,
tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding,
severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to
another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist
attacks, 'Are we sure this is a good time to take God
out of the Pledge of Allegiance?'

Interesting thoughts for sure but Jay Leno didn't say any of that. Here is the truth for those interested.

this has been passed around on the E-mail circuit several times. Else it would be news to me.

Umm,Is anybody complaining about restaurants or electricity? what is it they don't like? My money is on things like warmongering politicians, dumbing down schools, crime and how it is handled, out of bounds welfare, jobs going elsewhere, etc.

yeah, rejoice that there is a MacDonalds in every little cow town and don't look at what needs to be fixed in this land.

quote
No wonder the world
loves the U.S. , yet has a great disdain for its citizens.

huh???????where did he get that idea???? it is the other way around.
Trust me, I know, I have lived abroad a very long time (like the last 27 years). It is the government and the policies that are despised. The American people have always been considered as nice people, friendly, helpful, generous, etc. the people abroad could not understand how such nice people could elect such awful politicians.

Sorry folks but I'd not seen it before. Since it was
so very true I thought you folk's would enjoy it.

Not take issue with it. ::) ::)

Kinda says a lot about the atmosphere here don't it? :o :o

Well, even if Jay didn't really say it, the text really does say something for how ungrateful people are in a country that has so much more than so many other nations in the world. I can't complain.

Now I know why I don't miss the T.V. since I canceled my satellite service. I think that when people actually put any credence into anything a comedian says It's a bad sign. How about we are unhappy about the current administration raping our Constitution The Patriot act is nothing but a way to take out guaranteed liberty's from us wrapped in the flag. I know most Americans are fools but I can't believe they believe the crap they are being fed by this administration. God help us, we're doomed

"the president who guided us in the dark days after Sept. 11.." B.S. ! Let us never forget this is the president who flew all over the country and hid while the country needed guidance on that terrible day. He acted like a coward and that should not be forgotten.

Wilstone, sorry gota dissagree.

So if you were presedent, what would you do? Get a rifle? Start talking before the events of that day were over?

If bubble head blonds with blackberries can know about a sale at Barnies' in seconds..what to you think the people in charge could do?

I think what he was realy doing and what was realy happening was not for us, or the enemy to know.

He's not an icon of America, but it's not like he comands the seas to rise or the sun to stand in the sky.

Maybe you're right. I'm sure there are things that aren't for us to know. We do know however that after Bush first got word about a second jet hitting the WTC that he sat motionless in a Florida classroom for a full seven minutes. Following that he boarded Air Force One and hightailed it not back to DC or even MacDill Air Force Base where the army's central command is located but to Louisiana and then halfway around the country and ending up in Nebraska. Now we'll never truly know what was going on up there but it sure looked like running to me. I don't expect the world of our leaders, hell I've learned not to expect much out of any of them at all, but I do expect them to do what they need to do when the cards are down. On 9-11 the cards were down and we needed a leader. If he was scared that's understandable. Everyone was freaked out that day and I was a little more freaked out to know that our leaders were nowhere to be found when we needed them the most.

OK.. I have to go by these point by point.. Im sure ill tick a few off.. I don’t care. *smiles*

A.. Is it that we have electricity and running
water 24 hours a day, 7 Days a week?

That is starting to cost us a fortune because of the overregulated and over burdened industry. Soon only the “Elite” will be able to afford the 24/7 luxury. Hmmm.. just like those “third world” countries.

B.. Is our unhappiness the result of having air
conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter?

That we work hard to pay for that were manufactured by hard working industrious people. Instead of people running around worshipping cows, and waiting for the government to come rescue them with handouts.

C.. Could it be that 95.4 percent of these unhappy
folks have a job?

That we bust our butts at day in and day out to pay for the 4.6 percent that sit around on their fat lazy asses.

D.. Maybe it is the ability to walk into a
grocery store at any time and see more food in moments
than Darfur has seen in the last year?

That is picked by illegal immigrants, tainted with diseases, and imported from foreign countries instead of being locally grown and sold in the “most fertile, richest” nation in the world???

E.. Maybe it is the ability to drive our cars and
trucks from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean without
having to present identification papers as we move through
each state?

Maybe it’s the fact that we have to show our “papers” to fly from state to state and with the implementation of the “Real ID Act” the days of “free” travel are numbered.

F.. Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe
motels we would find along the way that can provide
temporary shelter?

That were built by people that don’t sit around waiting for the Government to bail them out, and that are paid for by us the hard working 95.6 percent that once in a while are able to scrounge enough of out left over salary, after the wonderful government gets their share of course, to stay there for a night or two.

G.. I guess having thousands of restaurants with
varying cuisine from around the world is just not good
enough either.

Staffed in the back by illegal immigrants. And sometimes in the front. And serving us Food that no longer is grown in America.

H. Or could it be that when we wreck our car,
emergency workers show up and provide services to help all
and even send a helicopter to take you to the hospital.

Paid for by the Tax dollars that are stolen from us everyday by you know who.

I.. Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of
Americans who own a home.

Of which about 10 to 15 percent were bought by those who couldn’t afford it and with loans made by banks who knew they couldn’t pay for it and are now going to be paid for by,,, you guessed it. The 95.4 percent that work for a living. Its great that we are blessed to constantly pay for the idiocy of others.

J.. You may be upset with knowing that in the
unfortunate case of a fire, a group of trained firefighters
will appear in moments and use top notch equipment to
extinguish the flames, thus saving you, your family, and
your belongings.

The simple fact is that most fire departments only “contain” the fire from spreading. If they are able they will extinguish the fire. Not to detract from the bravery of the men that serve in that profession. And I have had need of their services in the past. My father and brother were or are firefighters. Doesn’t change the fact that some of the fires that they put out are started by people that don’t work or are performing illegal activities to start the fire in the first place. And my tax dollars have to once again bail them out. That’s assuming of course that the local municipality hasn’t wasted the money they steal from us and can afford to pay them and buy the equipment that they need. And the unions haven’t told them to go on strike. Both of which have happened in my life time and im not even that old.

K.. Or if, while at home watching one of your
many flat screen TVs, a burglar or prowler intrudes, an
officer equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof vest will
come to defend you and your family against attack or loss.

Law enforcement are under NO obligation to save you from anyone. A portion of them are corrupt and see themselves as little dictators. As for them defending my family against loss of attack that’s laughable. The bumper sticker said it best. “When seconds count the police are only minutes away” Not to mention they blindly follow orders of the corrupt upper echelon and daily violate our constitional rights.

L.. This all in the backdrop of a neighborhood
free of bombs or militias raping and pillaging the
residents. Neighborhoods where 90% of teenagers own cell
phones and computers.

Have you read the news lately? What do you think these stupid street gangs are? Where are those beloved police you were talking about in the last item stopping them from raping and pillaging? Did you see the footage from new Orleans? Werent those beloved police pillaging in the streets with the scumbags?.. it’s a good thing they were in uniform or I wouldn’t have know they were the good guys.

M.. How about the complete religious, social and
political freedoms we enjoy that are the envy of everyone
in the world?

Do you mean the freedom to indoctrinate our children into sex, and drugs, and that its ok to drug your child because he has trouble paying attention but if you choose not to do that you are persecuted? Or that its ok to indoctrinate our children into islam or witchcraft but if they want to talk about Jesus in their Christmas essay they aren’t allowed to? Or the freedom we have to murder millions of innocent children by ripping them from their mothers womb because they didn’t want to be inconvenienced with motherhood, but if you want to spank your child or teach them right from wrong or teach them that homosexuality is immoral you are a bad parent and a bigot, and In danger of having your children removed from you? The beloved government trespasses on private property and takes hundreds of kids from their parents for being “too young to have babies” and yet that spoiled little spears kid gets knocked up and there isn’t one iota of outrage. Why didn’t DCF raid the spears compound and take Jamie lynn from her mother for letting her get knocked up by an adult?

Maybe that is what has 67% of you folks unhappy.

Unhappy with America?.. not on your life.. unhappy with the fact that where we are living no longer resembles the America I grew up with, nor that, that our forefathers envisioned?

Yep count me among those 67% then.

No better place to be outside the White House when you are in command. He was RIGHT where he was suposed to be.

I got this from my MIL and I had a lot of problems with it. (Wish I'd been smart enough to check on it, see if it was for real.) 8)

One of my reactions (besides stating that it was mostly crap) was this: If Jay Leno thinks life is so easy, he can give me a couple of those pretty Harleys so I could sell it and help myself through school! >:(

I am surely no Bush fan, but on 9/11 he did exactly what he should have done! He didn't freeze for seven minutes, he continued to keep things normal for those kids in a classroom, and bring things to a graceful close in spite of a tragedy. He was collected and in control even when upset by that horrible news. He went to the *flying control center and took care of business instead of breaking down or exploding in anger as many others would have. He is not supposed to be a sitting duck on some bullseye just so the communist MSM knows where he is, and what is going on. I find no fault with his actions on that day as I know them.

Don't forget that those of us in the Southwest have to go through "Check Points" all the time and make a declaration of our citizenship and if they think you're hinky they will be asking for your "papers". They also use this excuse to search vehicles violating the fourth amendment at the drop of a hat and without probable cause - it's 'cause' the want to and they can if they want to...

every bit of that, cutter, sounds like it came straight from the liberal propaganda center script for the day -

Every bit of that comes from RON PAUL and nobody in politics is more Republican than he is. We are being led down the road to a fascist government and they just keep reminding us of how good we have it while they take away your rights and liberty's. Now they have the right to define "terrorist" any way they want. If they don't like what we are saying on this web site they can define it as terrorist activity, arrest you and not even tell your family where you are, deny you an attorney and hold you as long as they want without a trial. The Patriot Act gave them that right and just about all our congressmen voted for it. Now they can listen in on any phone calls, e-mails and private conversations without a warrant. The FISA bill gave them that right and almost all our congressmen voted for it. Maybe you don't have anything to hide but don't give up your right to privacy.
We all remember the book 1984 and how relieved we were when that date passed and had not come true. Well look around. We are well on the road to that type of life unless we take measures to rein in our government and it's illegal power grab. Bush may call himself a Republican but he is like no Republican I ever knew. Republicans believe in the Constitution and smaller government. They believe government should have less control over it's citizens life.
This government now controls what you hear on the news and read in the papers. They are trying to control what you think and if you don't agree with them they label you as unpatriotic while they keep chopping away at your rights and liberty's.
Well I'll end this rant now and I think Jay Leno is just a tool for a fascist government and he is doing everything in his power to take us down the road to government control of every thing in our lives
