An old war vet once told me "Untill you have been there you dont understand". Now days i hear a lot of people talk about a lot of things, Giving their opinions, But i dont think they understand what thay are talking about. Where have you been? have you been held as a terrorist and denied you rights? have you been to the emergency room after being beaten by the city police? Have you been in front of a sadistic judge who litterly laughed out loud as he tore your life apart? Have you been there?
Have you been harrased and abused by 'minorities' who knew thay could get away with it becuse of who thay AND who you wore?
Have you ever been robbed by the state, Having your personal things taken?
Do you understand?
Have you ever lost your job because of an imigrant who
constantly preached his hatred of america, even as he cuts in line on pay day?
Have you ever been phisicaly atacked by a family member because thay finally could not stand seeing you be succesfull anymore?
Have you been around someone who made you really believe in demonic possesion?
Where have you been? Do you only say 'Thats bad' Or do you realy understand?

Thank God that it is not the law of the land that you have to walk a mile in someones shoes before you can talk about it and then either stand up for them and defend them, or disagree and stop them.
Where would Women, and Black Americans be today if white males hadn't seen and understood the travesty of their situation and stood with them and fought for them to end their oppression.
Thank God for heros like William Ash, and Virginia Hall and hundreds of thousands of others who saw Hitler for who he was and what he was doing and left America wallowing in it's apathy and joined our future allies and fought against him every step of the way. *Changing the future of the war in Major verifiable ways long before America entered the scene.
Thank God for Men like Oskar Schindler who had never been discriminated against a day in his life, but found the courage to harbor and defend hundreds of Jews who were to be sent for slaughter.
Thank God for the thousands of Men and Women who didn't wait to be affected by a hurricane, or by buildings falling down around them, or by tornadoes, or wild fires, or tsunamis before flocking to the aid of others who have.
The idea that you have to experience something before you can comment on it, or have empathy or sympathy for those that have been, smacks of political correctness, which has been a major contributing factor in the current situation of America today.
Thats just my 2 cents worth.

You are correct, I've never experienced having my head cut off by a terrorist. However, IN MY OPINION, I think it would be a bad thing.
I don't think it is necessary to visit the place or have an experience just to have an opinion. I do think that one should make a reasonable attempt to educate himself/herself on a particular topic prior to spouting off.

I think people feel what they choose to feel. Some are more open to others feeling than others. Many have experinced the pain and grief so know first hand how it feels. Some have witnessed it and have come to realize the hurt that can be inflicted. And many go through life saying it won't happen to them. People should be more careful to judge and a little more open to comfort. I watched my sister go through the loss of her 22 year old son. I felt her pain but most of all I felt the pain she suffered as she had much guilt inside for not being able to save him from the world of drugs. She felt as though she let him down but it truth he was a victim of peer pressure consumed by a world of drugs. All her money for treatment and her show of love was in vain. It's been a year now and she is no were near getting over the loss. We all have life experiences that cut the bone of our emotions. No one person is imune to it. Do we stop and comfort those in need or just move on as though it never happened or couldn't happen to us. Life goes on and the pain will lessen if you allow it to. It may never be as it was but one should never give up on living life to it's fullest nor should one live in the past as it is not healthy for the soul. Let lifes lessons make you stronger and more wiser. Be safe my brothers and sisters

So what does all that have to do with having 'been there"? ???
Yes, I've 'been there'. I've been to the 'other side'. Yes, quite literally, and there is nothing to fear along the way or when you get there. The experience changed the way I view my life and this world at a fundamental level, and I am much more peaceful about things than I used to be. I sometimes wish other people could experience what I did. I think it would go a long way toward teaching people what love is.

I mean that only about twenty to thirty of every one hundred colonials supported the revolt against the british slavers, taxers, torturers, and murders.
I have been growing most of my own food, potatos corn beans onions peppers squash, chickens rabits,
people hate it that i do, And untill someone has had to face this hatred, thay dont really know it is real,And if you dont know there is a problem you cant fix it.

you are just flat wrong. *
Those people i mentioned and many others fought for freedom and liberty.. * plain and simple.
The fact that the freedoms we have today are morally repugnant is due to the fact that is noone anymore to stand up and speak out because they havent "been there" *They will be looked at as bigots or racists or anti female.
Not all women choose that path and because of men who didnt have to "be there" to stand up for them have a voice in the matter.
Not all blacks choose the path you have stated and because of men who didnt have to " be there" to stand up for them they have the freedom to *earn an honest days wage for an honest days work.
Because people think they havent "been there" so tehy can't speak up we now have abortion on demand, and welfare unlimited, and fraudulent voting, etc etc etc...
Those fighting against slavery, either in battle, or in the legislature, or doing their part for the underground railroad had never " been there" but you dont have to " be there" to see the wrongs that are laid out before you if you yourself have a strong moral upbringing, and stand for something in your life.
whats the addage? *" if you dont stand for something, you'll fall for anything?"
I dont need to be a pregnant underage girl to know that abortion is wrong. *I dont need to be the recepient child molestation to know that its wrong. *I dont need to be given welfare for not working to know that its wrong to not work for my wages.
Its people that feel they cant say anything because they havent "been there" that usually cause the most problems because they see the wrongs, and the hurts, and the injustices, and because they havent "been there" or it doesnt affect them they instead choose to do nothing.
Its the risk takers that have forged this nation. *And i pray that it will be them again that will take it back from a generation of people that dont speak up because they havent " been there"
