This is a old TV show that was on the BBC.
I watched most of them on PBS years ago.
A good comedy about a couple and their mis-adventures in self-sufficiency.

A 1970s BBC comedy about a former draughtsman and his wife and their attempt to be completely self-sufficient in Surbiton.

If you can't watch it on VEOH, parts of it are on YouTube:

Yes David.

I was only about 8 years old when the series came out and it damaged me for life ;D ;D ;D

I whined and begged until dad gave me my own bit of garden so i could be like them.
My home and lifestyle is pretty much like theirs and people still refer to this sort of self sufficient lifestyle as living the "good life"
The couple in the series being tom and barbera Good.

Thanks for the links,
Best wishes,
April

DavidOH - I used to catch that show on PBS. It was funny how they sucked their yuppie neighbors into their effort at homesteading! It also reminded me of the errors I made at my first attempt at many homestead chores. It's a great show!

Now let me tell you about a website called www.tinyurl.com. That huge link you posted can be reduced to less than a dozen characters there! I really like the site & it's free. You just paste in the long link and they generate a short one that you copy and use.

DH & I loved that show. The last time it was run on PBS we taped it. One evening we were watching it and a tornado warning came across the bottom of the screen...I about panicked until I remembered it was a tape!! It is a great comedy based on a good premise that (although I doubt that was its intent) encouraged a lot of people to think about their over-consumming lifestyle & consider self-sufficiency.

Glad to hear others saw and liked this series.
We're all better off if we can laugh at our own little adventures. ;D
