Forklift Batteries for solar?

Hi, anyone have first hand knowledge on using these?

The reason I ask is that I have seen some info on reconditioning them and thought I could get some used ones and recondition them for use in a solar system

The site OtherPower.COM (http://otherpower.com/otherpower_battery_compare.html) recommends them as the best of the lead-acid types. Wish I had access to some. I'm nevious.

I know one person that has been using a battery string from forklift batteries for many years and they have performed great. *I'm sure if one could obtain them at a reasonable price that they would be worth using.

I am considering using them in our system. Where I work we have a full time forklift mechanic on staff and a fleet of lift trucks and I am trying to learn as much as I can from him. I have a pallet jack that I use in my own shop here that will handle the weight of the batteries.
