Oh my goodness!! You are not going to belive this, Quietgentleman, but late last fall we were looking at property in Montana. I did a google on it and by following a few links, came across the very site you have linked. As a matter of fact, I have it bookmarked and have returned to it several times..I dont know why, its torture every time I do! lol I dreamt about this place for the longest time...no need wondering what I'll be dreamin about tonight...lol
Tell ya what, you buy it and I'll come log it for you. =) No we are not the kind of loggers that clear cut anything, just what needs to be cut to allow the healthy trees to grow better. =)
I'll even stay in the original home! ;)
*holds up her t-shirt*
Yes I run a chain saw
Yes I run a skidder
Yes I drive a logging truck
No, Im not a dike!
No offense to anyone, kinda a standard joke around where I live. There are no women who like to do what I do, so Im always asked that =)

I know what you mean I find that piece of property very appealing. I truly enjoy searching for land mostly west of the Mississippi and my favor site is www.landsof (then which ever state you wish) .com
Well when that job I keep applying for comes in (lottery winner) I'll let you know ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Just wish I didn't have to pay the application fees to enter ::) ::) ::)

What a beutiful piece of property. I told my kids about it and they were excited to hear about it. One of them even commented, "That's a cheap price!"
I love the descriptions of the place. They really know how to appeal to someone of a "homestead" mindset.
I wish that I could afford it as well. Although it's further away from family, it sure seems like Heaven.

Lovely! I too was drooling . . . until I saw the price ($1,250,000) and then my spit kind of dried up. ;D

I just realized that I was posting about a different piece of property. The one that I was looking at was in Wisconsin.
Wow, I must be getting old..lol

That property is very beautiful and secluded. The main thing I would be worried about is the rate Montana is having forest fires each summer. It is just a matter of time before you lose everything. IMHO. MV out!

Isn't $3000 per acre a bit pricy for Montana? It looks like a rich man's home, way too good for me. Probably has pretentious neighbors and all kinds of rules against having chickens, like other over priced rich man's retreats I've looked at.
Sour grapes on my part, I'm sure.
;D Not something I'ld have in my lifetime; but I'm not bitter about it.
