Always had a knack of being able to open locks. Tonight I opened the third car door this week. People lock keys in their car all the time. The thing that takes the longest is to get the guys away from the vehicle so I can do my "Thing". I have also gotten into the locked display cases that the boss lost the keys for. I always look for the easy way first then I get out the coat hanger. Tonight I couldn't get in through the window, but was able to get in to the latch on the door frame. The Lady who locked her keys in tonight left the car running, I didn't find out she needed help until after 3 guys had given up. Wasted a lot of gas.

Good Job, That's a great gift. It's such a dismal feeling to get locked out, those people must have been extremely relieved.

If you haven't already gotton one you can pickup a "slim jim" at harbor freight tools for a dollar or just make one yourself from flat banding material. Usually takes me less than 30 seconds to make entry.

I worked for 17 years in a bulding that had 974 female employees. At least once a week they would be locked out of something, desks, filing cabinets, offices, cars.
I got pretty good at picking locks, (I made my own picks) and getting into cars.
I got the keys out of a Corvette ignition and used them to open the doors and did not set off the car alarm.
One time I went to the lake with a locksmith and we came across a guy with a coathanger trying to get into a locked car. The locksmith started picking the lock but it took him more than 60 seconds so I took the coathanger and opened the other door.
The most difficult was my last one. A female at work dropped her car keys into her purse on the center of the front seat, then placed a bag of apples in the purse, covering the keys. Then she got out and locked the door.
Using a coathanger, I picked up the bag of apples, set it on the seat and got the keys out of the purse. Then I dropped them in the narrow space between the seat and the door!
I was able to get them and use them to open the door and then I took the purse, keys and apple to the owner.

She never even said thank you...........but she is such a nasty person that I am glad she didnt invent a false story accusing me of looking in her purse or something else equally vile.

The locksmith told me that sometimes the slimjims damage a car so I never used one. I an very happy to say that I NEVER damaged a car and I opened a lot of them

Today I opened another one. This guy didn't have the door shut tight but also left his engine on. This time I was the first one to help. I used my trusty coat hanger to push the button that rolled down the window, and opened the door just as another guy walked up with a slim jim.

PEACE,

There are a few types of Slim Jims and the worst you really have to worry about is fudging up the linkage in the door connecting the lever with the throw and catch. Used to be many moons ago the action was up and down now its horizontal. I always do the passengers side so as to avoid any inconvenience to the driver /owner should the entry foul it up. Good show and enjoy your skills as they really are "touch" sensitive, bravo.
