We might be moving to Juneau in a little bit we are looking for any info you all might have. We are looking for a home and some info on what is the best way to get all of our stuff up there. We are moving from Wyoming.

I'm just wondering why you picked Juneau? Do you have webbed feet or something?? ;D

I have no real info on Juneau, but wish you luck. I understand this is the mildest climate in Alaska, much like the Olympic Peninsula in Washington (I have been to this area, and really like it). I hear there are no major roads connecting Juneau to the outside world, so it sounds like a good place to be! Who cares if you get a little wet sometimes?? You just get more rainbows.

There are no roads going to Juneau, The only way to get vehicles in is to go by ferry. We figured out the cost of ferrying us and our to vehicles to between 3000 and 4000 dollars. (bellingham to juneau) we were a little shocked. The company I have applied with will pay moving expenses but I don't think they expected a 10-12 thousand dollar bill. We are going to reduce the amount of stuff we have, but with four kids it's still a lot. We have two vehicles a 2000 Diesel Excursion and a 1999 Honda minivan, we are considering selling one of the cars. We are also taking our 18ft trailer, it will cost almost as much to move the trailer as it did for me to buy it. We like the looks of the area and just wanted to see if anyone on this site actually lived there or has any info.
