View Full Version : Your papers, please...and my job

Some of you know I work at a truck stop. It's a chaotic job these days as many drivers have come from other countries and some of them are not native English speakers. We have drivers from Quebec, Spain, Eastern Europe, Mexico, Russia, South America, Japan, etc. Most have immigrated to this country to (I presume) have a better life for themselves and their families. They drive trucks to make a living just like the fellas from Alabama, Colorado, NJ, etc...

I normally work graveyard shift and run the coffee bar and the convenience store. Yesterday I worked 3 til 11:30pm and ran the fuel desk. Most drivers pay for their fuel using fuel cards, credit/charge cards used by the trucking industry exclusively. When a driver gives me one, I run it throughthe register and ask the driver a few questions ...unit (truck) number, trailer number, driver number, etc. The driver signs a print-out of his purchase (fuel ticket) and he is on his way. Process usually takes 2 minutes, tops. No biggie.

Around 9pm last night a couple of drivers came in. Heavy eastern European/Slavic accents. The younger man obviously understood little English and was wearing a company shirt with *Trainee* printed on the pocket. The older man , wearing a *Trainer* emblazoned shirt chatted with him (in their language)as they came to the counter.
The young man carefully stated his pump number, said "Fuel ticket" and handed me his fuel card. The older driver stood to one side watching how his trainee handled the transaction.
I ran the fuel card through the card reader and the expected display of information and blank fields came up on my register screen.
Here's where the story changed from the usual.

I asked "Unit number , please"?, and the younger man looked befuddled...then gave me a number, I entered it in the field and the readout on my screen flashed *incorrect data*. "Sir, I'm sorry, that's the wrong number. I need your unit number", I said clearly and slowly, trying to be helpful.
At that point, a couple of our local police officers came in the door, laughing and talking as they headed for the coffee bar. One tossed me their fuel card and said "Filling up on 11, be right back."

The change in the truck driver in front of me was shocking. He visibly paled and he pulled his wallet out of his pocket and began dumping the contents on the counter. In broken English he anxiously stuttered "My papers...my papers..." and offered me his passport, social security card, CDL (license) and several other documents that proved his identity and citizenship.

Confused, I looked at him and said "Hun, all I need is your truck number." His trainer stepped in and translated and spoke to the shaken guy in a soothing tone. The young man gave me his truck number and the register obediently spit out his fuel ticket.
As he carefully signed his fuel ticket, his trainer, with a sad look on his face, stepped to the counter and said "Excuse him please...he was born and raised in...other country. He has only been here a little over a year. Some things still frighten him."
They gathered up the documents strewn on the counter. I gave them both *courtesy cups* (for free coffee) and they went to the coffee bar...with the younger man giving the LEOs a wide berth as they crossed paths.

It all occurred in perhaps 5 minutes.

I have always been a freedom loving person. I have never trusted the faceless entities of government, whether it was my own or anyone elses.
But that one incident shook me to my core.
How long before ALL of us, you, me, your children, the guy down the street...have the same reaction when asked for information? How long before the mere sight of an LEO leaves us shaken and pawing through our pockets in a panic? How long until a simple transaction at a store becomes an entanglement with paperwork and abject fear?

The young driver was perhaps 28 or 29. His trainer did not specify the country...maybe Bosnia...maybe Russia ...I am not that good at deciphering accents and languages from that region.
Where ever he grew up, he was raised in an atmosphere of (at least mentally) jack-booted thugs ready at any given moment to question, arrest or simply make one disappear due to a mistake in paperwork...or speech...or thought...
I wonder how long it will take him to get over it? I wonder if he ever will?
I wonder how long it will take American citizens to have the same reaction, given the current spiraling movement towards facism and government thuggery that we live in now?

Yes, the time for the Revolution is upon us. We all need to be aware of this and take part. To do nothing is suicidal and homicidal. To be complacent sheep will destroy us as we are now and kill the hopes and dreams of the generations that follow us.

Just my thoughts today...

Gwynyvyr, not to be a tin hat,but have you just discribed
a not to distant America??

Unless we stop the out of control part of the Republican & Democrat
parties with this election it's a sure bet that it will be by 2012.

Sadly, it may take blood in the streets again to take our gov't back
from the rightwing neocon's now in charge. :'( :'( :'(

I agree with you, Tightwad, this is possibly in our future, unless everyone wizens up.
Too bad that alot of people won't be reading Gwyn's post, this post needs to be out there and in everyone's face.

EXCELLENT post gwyn.

I've done a lot of rethinking on our foreigners
here now. Will our government round them
up like they did during WW II with the Germans
and Japanese. They lost their jobs, homes, and
money and, when they were released, they had
to start over.

Of course, gwyn, we wear tin foil hats, now
don't we?

No! We now see the citizens are believing/seeing
what is going on here in America. Those moles
who try to discredit us are lousy traitors to our
movement of freedom for all. Their fascist mindset
can go to HELL.

Everyone should take the time to research just
how many departments fall under the Department
of Homeland Security? It's HUGE. It will involve
more police. More LEO's to "manage" us.

Most people won't *believe it could ever happen here. *

To these people..talk to them. Convince them to learn for themselves.
Sure, you'll take some heat, but if you care about America that's a
small price to pay as citizen.

Taking up arms is a last resort in any fight. The human voice is much
more powerful when used with conviction. Rally your family, friends, &
co-workers to learn what's going on. Raise your voice to avoid the
need for arms. Being a woman is no reason to stand aside.

I personally think that when they start rounding up people, that it won't be the foriegners(they come from countries where this already happens)
NO I believe it will be the people like the ones on this site that the government will go after. We know what
it's like to be free, we know the government is wrong when they try to control us. AND GOD willing WE will let them know we will not be ruled.

As a side note here, how many of you try to talk about these things outside this forum and get the snickers
I have noticed THANK GOD that alot of the people I used to voice my concerns to who Snickered, are now listening or better yet starting to voice their FEARS.
Keep talking
OK off the soap box

hill, go to the thread I posted on prison
camps and look at tightwads link to the
immigration round up they have planned.
Something like yuri port.

They have plans which can cover all people
who try to resist. They have they're bases covered.

I don't really know if the present administration
have a surprise for us or he, like Clinton,
is just setting up another stage/level for the
future takeover. ENDGAMES plan is 2012.

Peace,

Well hello not to be rude but isnt that exactly how just about every one feels when the have "one" follow them, or blow by doin 70+ and feel that gut wrenching, or perhaps youve had happy hour after work once or twice and...
twinge until of course you realize the feeling may "be" the same in both cases , somehow I doubt the results depending on "culture" would be.. yet p olice unfortunatley make everyone a little nervous these last few decades,.

As far as immigration of "foreign" aliens.. let them in lawfully and statiscally feasible like. but.. 12 million illegals is an invasion force. vote wise or other they are not american citizens and dont fool yourself as to where their loyalties lie. remeber they cheated and broke the law just to get here, statistically what are they doin since.../???

I have recently had the hun in my house over eventually "unfounded" allegation from some 1 800 snitch line. Do you think i WILL EVER RECIEVE AN APOLOGY FOR 15 DAYS OF HEAD SPLITTING GUT WRENCHING STRESS not to mention home invasions and property loss with out compensation or due process.

Remeber it is only the beginning.

We are far closer to a civil war than to a revolution.

Haven't you noticed how we have been so cleverly divided to be conquered.

We hate and fight each other over a million tidbits, and that is exactly what "they" want and need to gain and maintain power over us.

WE are really not the problem, so why be so hateful to one another, as if there was any real difference between us except what has been fostered by those who profit from division.

Unity of the populous is the worst enemy to tyrants.
That's why they need and feed upon, civil strife.

The media, day and night, especially some of these radio talk shows keep putting words right into our mouths and we spit them out just as if these thoughts originated with us.

It's mental kloning, folks, and we are sheep being led to the slaughter.

Civil war is the best friend that tyranny ever had against any REAL revolution.

If you want a revolution, you'd better get it together yourselves, and not let them run the whole thing.

I am convinced that the left or the right, any side you are led to think is right by the media, is all run by those who would enslave us and keep us from thinking of the first things that we really need for our freedom and happiness, for true peace and prosperity.

--and it ain't coming from them. They cannot lead us anywhere we should really be thinking about going.
--only to perdition.

So vote this or vote that, and it still will not make a dent in anything until we teach, and listen to one another, about all those things we see from the other side of the mountain.

They have taught us from day one, not HOW to think, but WHAT to think.

No matter whose in, it's be one law after another until we are ALL outlaws, and then they have a good excuse and justification to lock us all up, one at a time, one group at a time, and everyone left will think it is ok, because "we broke the law", until another "LAW" outlaws them. love, alma

Peace,

Yes yes yes the bilderbergs and ultra elite are pulling all the strings. You al have seen the freedom to facism movie i hope. the only lawful and constitutional way of remitting the power to the people ,is civil disobediance through peaceable, peaceable, peaceable assembly in very large numbers. we have the natural given responsibilty to demand redress from our oppressors, for ourselves and our posterity.

50 years little by little and 50 years dumbing down each sucessive generation by polutting their minds with the mass media "programming".

Someone big better soon support and organize an event that the media cant possibly ignore. I believe if the numbers are so staggering that the media cant possible side against us they will switch like the turncoat whores they are just to save face.

The only downfall will be the provocation of violence. We can not let them have that one victory, just that one will turn the undecided masses against us as "enemy combatants". NO NO no VIOLENCE . History as well as logic says I am correct. Let them show their true faces by killing and commiting violence. Once they make that mistake they are finished. We will have very "reluctant" civil servants again. The way it should be. Government should fear and obey their constituants not the other way around.

O. Kkkkkkkkkkk.......

First let me say that I've marched through the streets with the best of them. My entire life I've made sure I would never be one of the "sheeple" of our world.

BUT! There IS another possible twist to your post. Those poor, poor immigrants and blah blah blah that some folks feel sorry for. And could we ever wind up that afraid of our own government?

PERHAPS THEY HAD A GOOD REASON TO BE AFRAID?

We're going into 2007 with more than 60 countries that hate us. And I mean HATE us! "Imagine a world without America in it".

So yes, I see where we need to make sure Big Brother is not in complete control, but this IS a new world. The Cole bombing and a guhzillion other things should have woke us up, but - NOT. Then we had 9/11 and our borders and ports are STILL wide open and fake I.D.s are available in every city in our country!

So what if...what IF those really were bad guys? Just maybe they were in training to torpedo a rig into an oil refinery? Or load it with explosives and drive it into the Capital or Sears Tower? Or hijack one with toxic waste and open the valve slowly as they drive through a couple major cities? What IF they really ARE bad guys in training?

9/11 should have taught us that we don't want the government in our bedroom, but there IS a need for "the man" and every citizen to question something that doesn't look or feel right. That paranoid might be from coming from a police state. - But that paranoid could also mean they were up to something?

I had a couple "mexicans" go past my house recently speaking arabic. Maybe just bilingual. But what IF they are here as bad guys in training?

What IF your truck drivers really are a couple of the bad guys in training? THAT would certainly make them pale and nervous around our police...

Interesting observations, Gwyn.

In my limited experience, most foreigners are pacifists; they'd rather be alive than free. Perfect "subjects".

My own mother HATES guns, she lived through WWII in Nazi Germany, hated Hitler, but was so afraid to say anything (The Gestapo). She has never realized the fact that if the people had the means to resist, he may never have come to power. That was Hitler's first order of business, when he took power, was to take firearms out of the average citizen's hands, so they couldn't resist, even if they wanted to. Only the Police and Military had guns. History has proven Hitler's methods to be quite effective. So were Stalin's.

"Why would anyone in their right mind want an Assault Weapon? There is no legitimate sporting purpose for those!"

Remember that mantra? The Democrats that backed "Komrade Klinton" and his Rottweiler lap dog Janet Reno back in the early 90's, the AWB of 1994? Waco? Ruby Ridge? I hate to sound like an old broken record, but I call a Spade a Spade. My memory is REAL GOOD when it comes to things like that.

The way I see it, you're either the "hunted", or "The Hunter". I prefer the latter. ;D

I suspect that most of the Patriots down through our history preferred to be "The Hunter", too. Their views and actions allow all of us to be posting this on the Internet today. God Bless them, and may we all do the "right thing" when the time comes, so as not to throw away what they fought and died for. >:(

There's going to come a time, really soon, when Starbucks, iPods, and two Hummers in the garage will take a back seat to "taking care of business". A Few Good People have always stepped up when it was needed, I suspect they always will. Those people are what give ATF Agents a cold chill in the night when they sleep. Those people are what makes me smile. ;D

During the vietnam war, thousands of us marched through the streets and put our lives on the line in a number of ways.

Most people remained on the sidelines, many agreeing with us but afraid to join us for fear of losing their jobs or some other advantage, and some because they believed in the war and hated us, calling us commies etc.

We tried to be peaceful and did all we could to keep it peaceful because that was the only way we could win, and "they" knew it..

Always, there were agent provocateurs walking along side us, unknown to us, and they would suddenly throw something at the cops or do some other provacative thing, and that is just what "they" wanted all along.
--and had probably paid the provacateur, or egged on some sorry soul to do whatever the powers-that-be wanted done.

This disrupted things and changed the whole focus from what our protest was all about to newspaper headlines of how violent we had been.

TV picked up the theme and posted pictures of our "violent" protest. --and so it goes.

It is vital that the protesters weed out anyone that tries to provoke a confrontation with the police, or cause dissention between ourselves, as they are also prone to do.

It is hard to have a peaceful demonstration because there are also people who are just plain furious at the system, and don't seem to know how to control their anger, but they can learn, and many just have to be taught the value of non-violence as a tactic if dissenters ever hope to win.

That is why Dr. King and his followers had to actually teach people so many things in their quest for economic and social justice.

Even then, they were brutalized to such an extent that there was no longer any denying it by the press or otherwise, and the public in general, and until capital hill finally got it.

There is much to "revolution". It can't just happen because people are fed up with the government. It is much more than that, and we all have a lot to learn, and to teach one another.

The public schools or the media, etc. are not going to tell us a thing that we need to know about having a revolution to throw them out of power and prestige, and all that this entails.

--and the half has never yet been told by any of us. love, alma

2 weeks ago I drove through 6 states going and 6 states coming home on a week long business trip.
This week I was all over parts of two states.

I have yet to have anyone question or even look my way (as near as I could tell).

If you have something to hide maybe you should be scared.
If you are just making your way through the world maybe you don't have to be.

I think some read a lot more into all this "sky is falling" stuff than is neccessary.

(...and I now fully expect to be called a sheeple, neo-con, or whatever other derogatory name some of you can come up with)

If you have something to hide it is wise to be careful and maybe a little nervous. If you have nothing to hide you have no reason to be nervous.
Don't blame others if you are nervous, look for the reason you are. You should be able to control yourself. Please do not blame others for something you have done.
I am not nervous when LEO are around, I have done nothing wrong. I am a lot more nervous without LEO around, especially when there are people around who use the word sheeple in their conservation.

Once a race or other group of people are the

of anything to be "guilty". ::) ::) ::)

Pancho;
When the police are cruising around MY area, i know they are looking OUT for me and mine, and i welcome them.

When i lived in a less desirable neighborhood, if I saw the police cruising around, i knew they were looking FOR me or mine, and there's a big difference.

In my present neighborhood, NO ONE does ANYTHING wrong.

In my former neighborhood, NO ONE did ANYTHING right. --and you just couldn't help wondering what and IF you or yours did it, whatever IT was that they were looking for. love, alma

pancho
11-04-2006, 07:16 AM
The people in a neighborhood make it less desirable. The neighborhood has nothing to do with it. If the neighborhood is undesirable and the people living there are profiled it isn't because of the buildings or land, it is the people. Move the people to another neighborhood and they will be profiled there also. Neighborhoods are not doing anything, the people living there are to blame.
I do not consider it profiling if a certain group of people are committing crimes. It is better to look for that group of people if a crime has been committed, when the crime is something they are known for.
If you were attacked by a bear you will not look for a cat to blame it on. You will not send the LEO looking for a dog. Put the blame for a crime on who is responsible. This isn't profiling. The neighborhood didn't do it.

Peace,

Logically one must concede that even belonging to this site could be used against you. Any time you stand and be counted publically It may be held against you. The key is to pick as wisely as possible. I bought this publication mainly from the rack until i felt comfortable to subscribe for the whole shee bang. Spent somtime myself nose to nose with the likes of Mr Kissenger and company at the U.N. with the JBS until I no longer felt comfortable being on their roles. (Just to high profile and front line hot ) When the homestead is ready I will return to their roles as well. We have and are being profiled for decades.

Wonderful radio interview liberty lover thankyou. I suggest that every one get this movie and get it out.

Peaceful peaceful peaceful action action action now now now. Violence will only help the evil scumbags.

Unfortunatley I agree that the majority of the mexican nationals (IM in construction) I ve interacted with speak little english but some jordainian and ariabic as well. They are not nor do they want to be americans ask them yourself theyll tell you.

They are running from a tyranical unstable and destitute envoirment and nothing prevents them from coming here for a better "mexican " life ...

The real issue isnt them though, it is the polarity these issues cause amongst us. When the shit hits the fan and believe me it will, we will find out where they stand and every one of your neighbors as well.

Sovereign individuals united is what created this wonderful concept that was america ,now its time we do our duty and restore it .
