We voted yesterday early due to a planned trip that
will take us away on voting day. The one thing that
struck both of us as so very tragic was the absence
of any Democratic or third party candicates to vote
for.

Being an independent voter I'd like to have some
choice to select from not just Republicans or nothing.

Really , really sad to think that America is now a one
party system. :'( :'( :( :(

8) I understand how you feel. I am a regestered Democrat but have always voted for the canidate that would do the best job in that position. Democrat, Republican, Green party , ect.. I have always tried to vote my heart not my party. I am very conservative in my life style and don't believe that we need more & bigger government to tell us how, where, when, & if we can eat fat foods, smoke in public, fart in public or what ever . It saddens me that the candidates we have today have no real conviction or plans to run on. I voted for Bush, although I don't agree with all he has done. We are at war with people who would kill us all if they could & we cannot afford to turn & run the way most Democrats suggest we should do. I guess all we can do is vote our hearts & pray for the best outcome.

You want democrats? Move here to the People's Republic of Massachusetts. That's all you get here is democrats, except for the governor's chair, and it looks like even that will go to a socialist democrat next month.

Hey, maybe we can send some of our democrats to your state. I'd be willing to send them all. Then you folks could pay for your own "Big Dig," pay water bills of $700 every three months, pay one of the highest auto insurance rates in the nation, have "Authorities" -- government agencies (read patronage havens) that are essentially accountable to nobody-- plus income taxes, gas taxes, sales taxes, and so much more. They don't call this place Taxachusetts for nothing.

Please, contact the politicians here and beg them to move to your state. Please. I'm offering one free bottle of wine to anyone who can lure an elected democratic politician out of Massachusetts.

Any takers?

ODS,
And I'll give you two bottles of wine if you promise to keep the democrats there. ;D

I agree with MN MOM....keep the liberals there!!! But loved your post Oliver!

We have a female Libertarian candidate here in Alabama who didn't get on the ballot for governor but who is still campaigning....selling posters and marijuana stash boxes showing her with much of her "cleavage" exposed and saying, "See more of THESE booms...." and then with photos of some of the other candidates and it says "and less of THESE boobs!"

Can't agree with all she stands for BUT her ads are sure funny!

You,as administrator, greatly disappoint me with this response as
folk's who are administrators are supposed to remain neutral on
political & religious topics to administer fairly.

With this cheap shot at all NON- Republican parties you totally
missed my point that IT WAS THE LACK OF CHOICE I WAS
LAMENTING ABOUT.

NO PARTY, FOR ANY REASON, SHOULD HAVE THE CONTROL
LEVEL THAT THE REPUBLICAN PARTY HAS NOW.
It flat ain't healthy for a constitutional republic but is very healthy
for a rightwing theocracy. Are you part of that theocracy??

As hard as it might be for some to remember........
"WE" are AMERICAN first. Our party or religious leanings are secondary. There ARE good people of all parties and to bash one or
the other is not in the best interest of the nation. I've voted for
"the candidate" based on my belief in their ability to do the job they
are asking for. It's business and nothing else. So it should be with
every thinking citizen in America when they go to the polls to vote.

If it isn't business when you walk in the voting booth then there's
a fool in there with you.

I'm friggin disgusted with you, ODS.

Both parties have been hyjacked.

Their both liberal.

It's a divide and conquer.

IL just wish Alex Jones could have a
piece of you. Debate you.

Didn't you watch Aaron Russo's documentary?
Didn't you learn anything about what he
was talking about?

Wow!!! A PC backwoods thread... Hope you guys are joking, as everyone is entitled to an opinion, even administrators. Can't act on it, except at the voting booth, but entitled IMO.

Oliver, you sure those you have up there aren't Demoncrats, not Democrats? Who was it, Bryant maybe, that started the Dems down the socialist path? ? ? Don't really know.

Here, we have a gov race with incumbent Dem. I'm probably going to kill some Repub's vote as I'm probably going to be voting against the fed guy without ever considering party affilliation. *Where they came from does matter to me this year, though, and I'd just as soon leave the Washington type pols in DC.

Maybe I'll get lucky and there will be an Independent on the ballot. They Oklahoma Independents are usually a bit crazy, but, I'm not sure that is relavant anymore...

Sorry, pinetree, grabbed the wrong sized brush there to paint with. :-[

As an independent coming from a blue state in the midwest yet, I am frustrated by the lack of any choice other than elephants (large behinds, eh) and the jacka$$ (also with big behinds). I personally can see no difference. There used to be but alas no longer.

The metro (you know the city slickers vs the country bumpkins have determined that Mass. is the state to emulate. Yeah, ODS. New York City is also on their admiration list. They are even willing to pay 400.00 to hear Barbra Streisand (sp?) sing and make fun of conservatives. We also were lucky to watch gay protesters picket a young mans funeral who died in Iraq. No matter that it had nothing to do with the gay issue...anything to keep themselves in the public. Yeah, we Minnesotans are now liberal and "sophicated".
Whoopie-ding!

I for one haven't voted but will either today or tomorrow. We've got one Rep.-incumbent, one Dem, and two Ind's. running for govenor. Believe me, I now understand why my mother used to say she was voting for "the lessor of two evils", except now it's the lessor of 4 for govenor and sometimes only one candidate for many of the other positions. Many incumbents here are running unopposed so you either vote for them or don't vote for anyone for that slot. I'm not even sure I can do the latter with the new electronic voting method we have here.

ODS has a right to an opinion same as anyone else. Tightwad is a brass collar democrat, and we know from his many posts. I seriously doubt that he'd be raising such a stink if he lived in Mass and only had the democrats to vote for.

Jim, what is a brass collar democrat? ;D

ODS does have a right to speak his mind?

No one has ODS shackled so therefore he
has 49 other states to chose to live.

Jim, Suggest you chill out. A personal attack such as this is a
violation of forum rules.

Like it or not "I" have a right to my opinions the same as anyone
else. This attack comes of makeing you look like a rabid howling
dog which I'm sure you are not, You've let your passion get the
better of your common sense here.

It is my right to point out that when acting as admin neutrality
is paramount. If Oliver wish's to make a personal statement then
he should do it under his own name as is his right. NOT as admin.

For the record "I" am an Independent voter who votes for the
candidate based on what "I" believe they can do so serve my
interest.

YOU can go back to barking at the moon now as I'm done......... ;D ;D

Hey ODS,
I'll trade you 2 senators for 4 leggiscritters.
Do we have a deal? LMAO ;)

The county I live in here in NY was just deemed the 4th most expensive tax county in the Nation based on some government calculations. We have about 100,000 population. ::) And are no wher's near NY City.

Hey Hillary Where's our Yobs man?

I just heard another portion of our production is headed to Brazil in a month!

When I make a personal attack, Oliver or someone else will have to delete my post and boot me off the forum. I didn't call you names, just pointed out facts. You however, called me a dog. No biggie, I forgive you.

A Brass Collar Democrat or as they're known here by their own choice, "A Yellow Dog Democrat" means that they'd vote for a yellow (cowardly) dog before they'd vote anyone anyone else for public office other than a Democrat.

Tightwad doesn't speak as though he's an independant even though he does make the claim from time to time. Supporting socialists, and Bush bashing seem to be the forte of the Dhimmicrats, and that coincidently is Tightwad's forte also. Water seeks it's own level.

Am I the only one that thinks it's odd that ODS isn't to be allowed an opinion but some of the ones making that claim think they're being censored if their opinion is challenged? All have the right to an opinion, even the right to challenge the opinion of others. I'm not offended that someone doesn't believe as I do. Why should they?

Hey, pinetree, went and looked. Just a state pol vs. fed pol for governor, BUT...

Do have an Independent running for Lt. Gov. His name is E.Z. Million. *I kid you not, you can go to the Oklahoma election board and look it up.

Tightwad, I misspoke. My understanding is that Oliver is webmaster, part-time administrator. Moderation was done from Oregon last time an account was locked, not from Mass. (my understanding anyway.)

jim, nope, you're not the only one that thinks that everyone is entitled to an opinion as long as they keep their actions professional. I've had to work with folks that I disliked intensely. We got the job done, then got the heck away from each other...

You and Tightwad ought to go start a thread to clear the air. I'd bet Oliver would let it alone to a great extent as long as the rest of us stayed out of it. Sometimes clearing the air is good.

BTW, I heard Tightwad say that there were a lot of Republicans up there that were running unopposed. Guess it is always good to have a choice, even if it isn't much of a choice...

Put me down in the column that says Oliver can say whatever he wants to.

If he were to officially censor someone's free speech on the grounds of his own personal beliefs, that would be wrong; but surely he can voice an opinion condemning Democrats, or Republicans, or Constitutionalist'. We're all big boys and girls here.

Freedom is a two way street. For example, Natalie Maines has the freedom to dog out the President on foreign soil; and I have the freedom not to buy anymore Dixie Chicks CDs.

Freedom, it's a beautiful thing. Go for it ODS.

You know what, I like his attitude... If you want something fixed then run for office and get it fixed!

Can't wait for RangerRick to chime in on this one. Till then, think I'll just bleed black and orange (Okie State colors) instead of Crimson and Cream (OU colors.)

jim, what'cha think? I mean, you live in Texas... ;D

??? Don't understand why Oliver is not entitled to his own opinion . We are all adults & the beauty of living in a country such as ours is seen right here. We would notbe able to post our feelings or opinions without fear of being killed or imprisioned if we did not live in the greatest country on earth. The U.S.A. So everyone chill out & accept it for what it is. One persons opinion. Just my two cents.

I will tell you one thing==== I wouldn't vote Republican, if someone paid me to do it! The Republican Party has come to naught. It has been laughed at all over America and the rest of the World! Talk about Democrats making the Government Bigger==== This Far Right Republican Bush Adm has caused our Government to grow at a pace Near unto LBJ! Its been 30 years since our Government grew with leaps and bounds like it has with this Republican Administration==== so don't talk all this Republican Garb and (Fat chance) Libertarian stuff to me. At least I am going to vote for someone which has got a chance of some sort to win the Race, and not some Far-fetched wanttabees! ;)

HillbillyPapa
10-29-2006, 09:12 AM
And I will tell you something else===== It is even gonna be More Sad=== when these Deadbeat Republican Office Holders- which have let Bush lead them around with a hook in their noses- go Packing for home!! Now, that's gonna be real Sad!
I won't be losing sleep over it!
