As you read this hopeful document ask yourself why our
government doesn't want us to know of Cuba's success.

Peak oil is real and from this document not the horror painted
by so many books on the topic. Many here can relate to the
Cubans success.

I had seen this before but appreciate the opportunity to see it again. It's something that should be re-read every so often to keep reminding us about where we're headed.

Really enjoyed the article. Shows how people
can make do with little and not only survive
but thrive.

I've also read that Cuba wasn't able to get
fertilizer and chemicals and now has completely
gone organic and the people are living a more
healthy life because of it.

I just hope with Fidel dies, a big giant country
doesn't come in and take over to "save the
people".

I wonder, if given the choice, how many of
the people would choose to leave the
country and how many would stay.

An often over looked point is that most Cubans stay and prosper.
They have to work a bit harder for sure but the rewards seem to
be enough.

When compared against the backdrop of American consumerism
Cuba is a terrible place to live. However, that is just not true.
Sure their Commie government stinks but overall the way Cubans
live now is really what life without cheap oil looks like and it scares
the hell out of spoiled American consumers. ::) ::)

The peak oil theory is 'hopefuil'? Its simply gloom and doom and not even valid---the world has plenty of oil. http://upi.com/NewsTrack/view.php?StoryID=20061020-044158-9693r
