In the current issue of BHM there is a concrete pad article that is full of inaccuracies. Some are going to lead to long term structural failure and others nearly immediate point load failures. There are also various code violations if you happen to live in an area where IBC codes are used.

I understand that we all don't have to deal with codes and that many codes are just more endless red tape, but a vast majority are in place from lessons learned in the past.

Please do not use the article as a statement in fact, do your own research and consult a pro.

BHM, what the heck? The article is of a sufficiently low quality that one has to think that no one is there to research and / or even proofread. There are readers who might refer to this or a similar article in the future for their own building needs...

I pay good money for the mag and expect good articles in return.

Ted,

Which article? I've not received my copies yet.

And please list some of the inaccuracies and any corrections you can provide as they may need to print a correction or have the author address the problems.

You can post them here, in detail, or send them to me at webmaster @ backwoodshome.com (without the spaces, of course).

Also, have you written to Dave about this?

Thanks.

Oliver

Thanks.
