male page.

"I am deeply sorry and I apologize for letting down my family and the people of Florida I have had the privilege to represent," he said in a statement issued by his office.

His departure sent Republicans scrambling for a replacement candidate less than six weeks before midterm elections in which Democrats are making a strong bid to gain control of the House.

Foley's two-sentence statement gave no reason for Foley's decision to abandon a flourishing career in Congress. But several officials said the resignation had been prompted by the e-mails, and he took his action as fresh details emerged about electronic messages he had sent.

Foley, 52, had been a shoo-in for a new term until the e-mail correspondence surfaced in recent days.

His resignation further complicates the political landscape for Republicans, who are fighting to retain control of Congress. Democrats need to win a net of 15 Republican seats to regain the power they lost in 1994.

ABC News reported Friday that Foley also engaged in a series of sexually explicit instant messages with current and former teenage male pages. In one message, ABC said, Foley wrote to one page: "Do I make you a little horny?"

In another message, Foley wrote, "You in your boxers, too? ... Well, strip down and get naked."

Foley, as chairman of the Missing and Exploited Children's Caucus, had introduced legislation in July to protect children from exploitation by adults over the Internet. He also sponsored other legislation designed to protect minors from abuse and neglect.

"We track library books better than we do sexual predators," Foley has said.

The e-mails were posted Friday on Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington's Web site after ABC News reported their existence. The group asked the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct to investigate the exchange Foley had with the boy.

What really gave me the warm fuzzies was when I read that
Foley, as chairman of the Missing and Exploited Children's Caucus, had introduced legislation in July to protect children from exploitation by adults over the Internet. He also sponsored other legislation designed to protect minors from abuse and neglect.
Now, who's going to protect our children ???
Nasty government, we need to do a cleansing, starting at the top and working down, who knows what else there is to be discovered?

??? Yes a thorough cleansing is a must, but I don’t know where to start. Should we start with the obvious ick like this guy or start with this guy for being so incredibly STUPID for using the internet to play with his underage cohorts? What a maroon!

Agree with tufhelp, what an idiot but the voters elected him. DO NOT RELECT ANYONE.
It may not be any better but I'm ready to take my chances with all new elected office holders.

Using being gay as an excuse ???

Hang on this will get even deeper.

tx annie, the gay magazine ADVOCATE outed
him several years ago.

They also outed Democrat Barney Franks's
boyfriend for being the leader of a male
prostitution ring in Washington D.C. where
under age boys were whored out to politicians,
business/military/religious leaders, judges,
and law enforcement.

Glad to see you junk, I've missed you. You
know what is going on and isn't it unbelievable
what was exposed on the ducumentary,
Conspiracy of Silence And, we were not
allowed to see. This is criminal.

How disgusting and evil to know what was/is going
on and not to do anything about it. Roadblock after
roadblock to get the information out to the
public. The prosecutor was blindsided every
step. Ted Gunderson, the ex FBI investigator,
a stand up guy, worked endless to get judges,
governments, and politicians to do the right thing
but just like the title of the documentary, all
he got was conspiracy of silence, lies,
cover-ups, discrediting witnesses, and threating
murder to the ones who were the victims of
child abuse.

Here's his website for those who can stomach the
truth about what was and is going
with our sicko politicians.

This is off Alex Jones site,
Connections between male prostitutes and the White House emerged again in early 2005, when James Dale Guckert, working under the pseudonym Jeff Gannon, was given privileged access to the White House despite his lack of suitable press credentials. Gannon first came under scrutiny when he repeatedly gave President Bush softball questions during press conferences - leading many to charge Gannon was a White House plant. Photos emerged of Bush embracing Gannon and appearing very affectionate towards him during meetings. It later came out that Gannon had previously placed ads on homosexual escort service websites.

In almost every case of human trafficking for child sex slavery , from Chile to Australia, to Bosnia, to Portugal, to Belgium, court proceedings get shut down or diverted when a clear connection to the elite arises.

In the mid 1990's, convicted child rapist Marc Dutroux built a secret prison cell in his Charleroi basement where he kept abducted young girls hostage at the behest of what he called "a big crime ring," which in the 2004 court case was thought by many to encompass some of Belgium's top politicians, judges and policemen . The reason why it took so long to apprehend Dutroux was that he was being legally protected by these same individuals.

Material witnesses at the trial described "child sex parties involving judges, politicians, bankers and members of the royal family." Victims that managed to survive (most were butchered snuff style after being raped) verified the claims.

Police actually visited Dutroux's home and heard the cries of help from children concealed in his basement yet believed Dutroux's explanation that the sounds were coming from kids playing in the street.

Dutroux was eventually convicted for his role in the pedophile ring but the involvement of the elite of the country was never properly investigated.

After Dyncorp and Halliburton contractors were exposed as having operated child prostitution rackets in the Balkans from the late 1990's onwards (and more recently in the case of Halliburton), Rep. Cynthia McKinney attempted to get answers as to why the U.S. government continued to do business with these corporations.

On March 11th 2005, McKinney grilled Secretar y Rumsfeld and General Myers on the Dyncorp scandal and its protection by the U.S. government.

"Mr. Secretary, I watched President Bush deliver a moving speech at the United Nations in September 2003, in which he mentioned the crisis of the sex trade. The President called for the punishment of those involved in this horrible business. But at the very moment of that speech, DynCorp was exposed for having been involved in the buying and selling of young women and children. While all of this was going on, DynCorp kept the Pentagon contract to administer the smallpox and anthrax vaccines, and is now working on a plague vaccine through the Joint Vaccine Acquisition Program. Mr. Secretary, is it [the] policy of the U.S. Government to reward companies that traffic in women and little girls?"

In late 2005, Halliburton subsidiary KBR and Dyncorp lobbyists worked in tandem with the Pentagon to stall legislation that would specifically ban trafficking in humans for forced labor and prostitution by U.S. contractors.

Where were the investigations and convicti ons in other cases of establishment orchestrated child slavery and prostitution? Like the NATO officials responsible for the mushrooming of child prostitution in Kosovo?

What happened to UN officials identified as using a ship charted for 'peacekeepers' to bring young girls from Thailand to East Timor as prostitutes?

The U.S. media largely failed to even report many of these cases at the time yet Foley's e mails, which are without a doubt perverted, creepy and fully worthy of further investigation, are given a hundred times more press coverage than huge sex slavery scandals with ties to the elite that resulted in the abduction, abuse, rape and murder of thousands of children across the globe - many of which are still missing today

I saw a news conference where Foley's attorney spoke, He said Foley was the victim of clergy abuse as a child.

Then MSNBC has some shrink on who says people who are abused are more likely to abuse others than people who were not sexually abused. It disgusts me to hear shrinks try to make excuses for people's bad behavior.

Foley is in damage control mode anyway, so I am not sure I even believe his claims of being abused as a child.

From Gringo's Post, Hi Gringo and All!

The U.S. media largely failed to even report many of these cases ...

That's why we find our own news and do our own research and no one of any credence watches or listens to them anymore except to help lead to what is really going on and what really has gone on...they give excellent hints with their half-truths and lies...they even foretell the sick future at times by telling us what the government is trying to save us from when the government phantoms are purporting to unleash the exact things the massmedia warns us about.
See...it is worth something...finding the lie right in front of us.

gringo, about a year ago I posted an article
about Jeff Gannon and Bush. Many folks here
were not ready for the truth and said it was
a conspiracy to slam Bush. With unfolding of
Foley's crime, I believe people are ready to
go forward and see. Haven't noticed one slam.

Another thing I have noticed recently,
folks are not slamming Alex Jones as much
as a conspiracy theorist. My judgment is
that people are starting to give Alex the
respect he deserves.

Along those lines, there is a former Mayor
of Knoxville, Victor Ashe, who was Bush's
sexmate at St. Phillips Academy and Yale
when they both were cheerleaders.

Reporters reported this and poof no more
reports came from the media. Bush shipped
Victor Ashe off to Poland where he is an
Ambassador.

How hypocritical of Bush to be so much against
gay rights when, in fact, he had/has homosexual
affairs.

One fact which came out during the Franklin
Report in Lincoln, Nebraska with Larry King
as the owner of a child/underage sex for hire
business was senior Bush was seen hiring
out a 19 year old black young man as a
Washington D.C. party. They both left the party
together. There were witnesses who came
forward and told the truth. These witnesses
had gone to the party but were shocked when
they found out what was going on.

The majority of people are ALWAYS behind the curve. Ales Jones and a few others are pointing out the Emperor has no clothes. Many people live in denial and/or their own fantasy land. The Gov. is good, and here to protect us, uh huh. Here's a little tidbit, on Jones the other day, he was talking about the elite trafficking in kidnapped children, having sex orgys, killing them and eating their brains. From everthing I've seen, I have no reason not to believe him. It's always backed by research. What I really love, is people will say, "I didn't see it on mainstream news." So you show it to them from mainstream news, and they say"Well you have to consider the source, " you can't win. It comes down to what they want to believe.

I understand there is a move underway to do away with the teenage pages---I quote [[ these teenagers shouldnt be exposed to this]] Say What???

These people should be exposed as soon as they are caught the FIRST time.

Why cant a teenager have a job that is safe--from the adult predators?? Do away with the page jobs---? Punish the teens? We want them to get jobs and be responsible---But on second thought---we need to protect our kids from the epidemic of child--rapist/molesters/killers.

Lets do away with the pukes that prey on teens or children --Period.

Public servants forget that---they are servants to the people that pay them-----How has it come to the point--that they [[politicians ]] think WE are the servants and they may abuse us at random?

What a screwed up world it has become----It makes me sick.

txanne, great point. Why punish the pages.
Slimy, evil, perverted, corrupted, sociapathic
politicians need to go straight to hell.

This is a picture of Jeff Gannon alleged to
be Jim Gousch, a prostitute who had a
website called Military Studs
One on left is today and on the right
was when he was a prostitute.

I'm not endorsing Randi Rhodes, the
picuture of Jeff Gannon was handy for folks
to compare.

Disgusting! The whole pack of them - the ones who knew and hid it, the ones who found out and saved it for election time, and the ones who haven't gotten caught yet who were up to the same thing or worse.

How about the parents of pages who knew and didn't blow the whistle? Protect the party at all costs, even their own kids? Ack. :P

So much arrogance -lets flush the whole nasty mess and vote in some new people on both sides of the aisle - at least they won't have had as much time to learn Washington's nasty ropes - maybe things will be a tiny bit better for a while.

Hi Carol Ann,

This is exactly what it will take...people just like you getting angry when anger is the only thing left to make us act to make the mess go away....right now. Speaking out about it to anyone that will listen.

So much arrogance -lets flush the whole nasty mess and vote in some new people on both sides of the aisle - at least they won't have had as much time to learn Washington's nasty ropes - maybe things will be a tiny bit better for a while.

The mess is getting flushed...we are taking their power away...because we gave it to them. We have that power if we do it together.
You and Me and direct concern for the past generations we cared for and loved that were duped and the new generations we care for and love that will be duped is the active thought process to change it all...we have that power. The politicians, the military, the schools, the police, the courts have NO power without us...and "without us" is our own decision that needs to be made and acted upon.

Let's not jump on the parents too quickly. Their silence was probably their way of trying to protect their child from being at the center of a scandal. It happens all the time. Parents of victimized children try to protect the child from further pain by not going after the abuser. Yeah it sucks to see the preditor go with out justice but sometimes, as a parent, you are more worried about trying to fix the problem for your child that you are about righting a wrong.

just a thought,
Donna
