Greetings...from a long time reader, short time lurker, and brand new member.
I have been working toward a more self-sustainable lifestyle for years. 2008 was a huge step in progress for me and I am hoping that 2009 will even bring me closer to my goal. My daughter and I raise sheep, broilers, turkeys and heirloom veggies and herbs on our little place in Central VA. Not off the grid yet, but that is most definitely a goal of mine.
It is a pleasure to meet so many folks who appreciate and understand the same types of values and lifestyle that I do. (The rest just think I'm a nutjob, of course!)
