I have been a long time reader of the magazine and just recently discovered the forum. Tons of great info and like minded people. I look forward to getting to know everyone.

I live in Southern Oregon but I'm getting tired of it here and am looking for a new place to settle. Possibly rural NM or NV, who knows. I'm 45 years old, a former Marine and retired Deputy Sheriff. I spend almost 5 years in the middle east with Blackwater Security doing different things for the govt. Now, after losing a marriage because I was never around I'm ready to stay stateside.

I've read many opinions here, everyone has one as they say. I find that my background usually brings out some strong opinions....I have an open mind and usually don't get caught up in debates.

However, I am looking forward to the knowledge of others to help me succeed in my simple, but comfortable lifestyle I have chosen.

Too bad Oregon is becoming sooo much like Cali. It was one of the places I was thinking of moving to. Now I have to expand my search.
