Hello everyone, my name is Ellen. I've been a fan of Backwoods Home for several years.

My quest to become independent is focused on health and diet. I am in the process of writing a website which showcases clean organic foods (grass fed beef, organic chicken and eggs, raw dairy including real butter, traditional fats, organic veggies, etc..) and alternative health theories (cholesterol is GOOD for you).

The more I learn about health and diet, the more I'm convinced that the best thing to do for your health is to ignore the Government's nutrition advice and avoid mainstream medicine.

My boyfriend Clair and I live in Wyoming and we have three greenhouses. We grow our own vegetables, and buy grass fed beef, pork and lamb from local ranchers. Our goal is to eat as little processed, chemical laden, franken-food as possible. We have 14 laying hens, so we have fresh organic eggs just about every morning.

I look forward to getting to know the community here!

Howdy Y'all and welcome! I,too have been a long time fan of BHM. My wife,Marilyn and myself,Carl, have our kids grown and have grandkids. We live on a small patch(1 hectare) that we're happy with, because it's all bought and paid for; cash no mortgage. We're purchasing another piece of land, contiguous to our current patch, that's 12 hectares. Our hens have been laying a minimum of 30 large to extra large brown eggs per day. 75% of their dietary needs come from free range and garden/kitchen scraps. With the new land purchase, we wish to have dairy goats. Oh, I've almost forgot...we live in NW Florida, a few miles north of I-10 at the beginning of the Appalachian Trail; with abundance of forest, which we harvest all that we can. I wanted to ask, "What is franken-foods?" I'm not familiar with that bastardization of the language?
