A conspiracy theory presented in the spirit of conspiracy theories everywhere. flimsy evidence, unconnected news articles, lots of hear-say, and some speculation.
Total food control.
chronology:
1. major corporate farms begin to replace family farms.
2. govt. subsidies for corporate farms
3. govt. products made from farm produce(USDA brand goods)
4. NAIS or other govt. program that hurts small time farmers but allows shortcuts for corporate farms.
5. adjust subsidies so that govt. approved crops are subsidized. GM food in particular. penalize non-GM farmers
6. through zoning, ban people from having personal gardens in towns. penalize towns and cities who do not institute those zoning regulations.
7. make govt. food banks. gradually restrict and finally outlaw non-govt. food charities.
8. stage a few food borne sickness problems, a few train borne bomb incidents to justify tight gov't control of food products and where they are going.

total control of the food supply will take a few decades. we are on step 3 overall, but the prerequisite steps are being done for the rest. they don't necessarily go in order. step 8 could be used at any time if there is resistance to any of the steps. 8 has been done several times to justify NAIS and various import/export restricions of food products.

I have been preaching this for several years..seems no one cares.
Seems important to me, you are missing one other very important point, The tomatoes, peppers, corn, and a number of other food crops no longer produce vialble seeds, they are STERILE. So there will soon be no way to grow your own food without purchasing seeds for plants that will also develop seed bearing fruits the seeds of which will be STERILE. In India and Africa there are now major food problems because formerly 25% of a crop was held back for sees (wheat/rice). Now seed must be purchase each year because the seed (grain) sold by MOnsanto etc. is STERILE.
The GVT will probably require a license for seed purchases in the future... after all, the SHOULD be some kind of tax on what you consume RIGHT???

fnfredux, this is why I started the thread about spliting packs of heirloom seeds. I would like to plant about 3 or 4 types of most veggies unless they are something I already know which variaty grows good here and we like the best in 3 or 4 small gardens that are spread out real good so I can get good seeds back this year.
I realy think this should be a big issue for everyone that can grow a garden even if it is just in containers. But as usually, you see very few seems interested. It dosn't make any sense to me at how even people on this forum can be so blind as to what is coming.

Macgeo, I have read quite a bit of what you are saying over the years. It is intended to provide vitamins, as well as vaccinations and supposed disease control all being grown into vegetables of the future, controlled, of course, by big brother. Genetically altered corn, and tomatoes, are already here now. I think I read where some of the chicken from the markets are genetically altered now also. Yes, it is coming. If I'm not mistaken, unless one has corn seed that is quite old, there is no more real corn seed to be had anywhere.

I have some ears of indian corn that was handed down from my ansestors, I got some soil from about ten feet down from a building project, This soil aparently dose not have any thing in it, like weed seed as nothing grew from it.
I planted some of my corn there and it grew to ears in two months.

I usto harvest vegetables for some people who grew all organic, It was the best stuff i had ever eaten. I am going to get some seed from them.

For that topic, the title of the thread would have need to be Sci-Fi.
I don't think it is POSSIBLE to survive our GVT, only succumb by degrees. Our GVT is "US" and many of US want to dominate ALL of US.

I hypothesize that congressmen are a sub-species of frog. To prove my hypothesis, I suggest we boil nancy pelosi, and as a control we will put a frog in a nice pot of warm water(so PETA doesn't come after us). If both the known frog and suspected frog slowly boil and die, then we will know that they are the same. if not, then we just turn up the heat on pelosi's pot and test the effects of boiling water on whatever it is that congressmen turn out to be.
