Wanted to stop in and say hello to all. I've been a lurker of this board for a while and am a member (don't post there much any more) of another LARGE homesteading board. This board just seems to fit what I'm looking for and from your post you all seem to be a great bunch of like minded folks.
As for my name, I own 5 acres on top of a mountain ridge in the Ozarks. I share this ridge top with only 7 other 5 acre owners so we have this little mountain top all to ourselves. It's located right between Bull Shoals Lake and Norfork Lake which is great for me as I love to fish for rainbow trout. None of us has started building yet, but I had mine cleared of all the under brush and a trail dozed from the road frontage all the way back to the creek (my back property line). When I start building, I'm sure I'll have many questions for all you knowledgeable folks. Thanks for making this a great site.

Welcome.
Got several of you 'Zarks here already.
Most of these folks are terrific, knowledgeable, and willing to share.

Ignore the ranking system under the name. You too can be a "Master Pontificator" in two months if you are truly obnoxious and have no life. Some of the young'uns overpost just to rank up quickly, apparently; because the posts are full of manure. The "Ignore" function saves a few headaches and web-wars.

You'll figure out fairly quickly who the smart ones are in a given area, if you have questions that can't wait I'd be glad to point you toward the brainiacs, I'm not one of them. :)
Do you have a specialty we can tap?

I fly-fish for trout myself. Not a purist, can't name over a half dozen flies. But I refuse to treat a trout like a bottom feeder! ;)

Hey RidgeRunner. I probably know your ridge :) . Been here almost 30 yrs. Heck, we may even know each other! I graduated MHHS in '83. PM me sometime.

I see you've already met some good people but, look out for wyOmn. Not that he's a bad one. Oh.. hi, Lex. :P

Hi'ya Rob :)
Yep I'm a scamp. (I do not consider you a young'un any longer :P ) Change the subject... did you ever take the exam?
I'll try to get more pics of the cabin this weekend, spam ya good & proper.

Thanks to all for the welcome!

wyOmn...LOL...I believe that was the first time I've been called a Zark. Glad to here that there are quite a few Zarks on this board. I'll try my best to not spread any unneeded fertilizer on BWH. I'm not really into post counts, just the substance of the post. BTW...I've been following the progress of your cabin. It looks great....keep the pics coming. And nope, no young'un here, just aged and seasoned like a prime piece of beef (that comment was for any single ladies out there). Dang wyOmn.....I'm spreading fertilizer already. ;D

Daredevil, 30 years in the Ozarks....you are one lucky person. I was born and raised in the south west corner of TN....yea, the crime capital, hell hole of the US....Memphis. I say i live in tween right now, between Memphis(finishing out my working days), and Missouri (where I plan to start enjoying the second half of my life). I'll get there permanently, its just going to take a few years. I'll give you a PM shout, heck we might be hilltop neighbors.

Looking forward to posting with ya'll on the boards.

DareDevil, thats one heck of a coincidence! You escaped the Memphis Plague just in time as it is spreading all over Shelby County, TN and Desoto County, MS. It's unstoppable.....no cure!
