awesome! BWH has a forum! Cannot wait to meet you folks! I am a small time farmer who lives in the true *backwoods* and loves it. I raise sheep, chickens, goats, trout, and a couple of kids; love my ATV, my Tundra, my remington 870 20 gauge, and my husband... (poor guy!)
I milk my sheep and goats and make cheeses and yogurts, the occasional creme brulee or buttermilk pie, wish I knew more about building and carpentry, but am getting to be a pretty decent shearer over the years. I like to track, but my man is the real hunter, I like to train dogs and am a pretty bad fisherwoman but I can sure can cook em.
I have only 25 acres and dream of getting a "real farm," (meaning a couple hundred acres and all the big fancy equipment that goes w/ that) but I expect I'll just keep building on what I have.
I am depressed about the price of fuel and corn, hopeful about our little farm, confident that homesteading self sufficiency is a sane choice in this crazy world, and an avid reader of BWH magazine.
