Hi everyone :)
I found out about BWH magazine through one those mailer paks of postcards they send out to anyone who is remotely interested in gardening. I checked out this site, subscribed to the magazine and spent several hours reading posts here.
I am just re-learning as an adult (48 years old) about creating a self sustaining lifestyle, was raised on a small farm and used to know how to live mostly off the land. Been gardening most of my life, but still have tons to learn.
I live in an unincorporated part of town in SE Florida, that some would consider a city. My property is just over 1/2 acre with "modern" neighbors on both sides.
I have 4 red and 3 black extremely rare parrots that look identical to chickens (LOL) and am systematically turning my yard into an edible landscape.
I'm canning my first batch of tomatoes from the garden as I type and sure hope for the best!
This forum is invaluable to me and I look forward to getting to know others on the same path.
