Welcome. If you're interested in homesteading, you're in the right place. There's loads of information here.

You'll find that here too. We have some forum members with a fair bit of experience in solar energy. Just look down in the Energy section.

Well I joined up here a day after you, so I thought I'd welcome you!

I have an only child that has 'surprised us' with joining the Navy...she goes to boot camp first part of June then on to Pensacola, Fla for air traffic control training. Due to the fact that she chose THAT for her line, she will be in 5 instead of 4 years.

She graduates from Jr. College this May, and heck, you can't hold em back! After the shock of her announcement, we have managed to adjust to this - if you can offer us any info or whatever, heck, we're here scratchin' our heads in central Ks. on an orchard and would appreciate ANYTHING you can offer us about gals in the armed forces especially the Navy...

We have evidently the same interests you and many have and would like to incorporate solar and of course wind power some feasible way here in Kansas. We seem to have gobs of both - ESPECIALLY the wind!
