What a great forum. I first learned of BWH magizine while living in Alaska from 1995 - 1998. I spent many good time up there. I liked the magizine because it harked my back to the way my grandparents lived back in Indiana when I was younger. The only modern convience was the addition of electricty way back in time '40 's / '50's ?
I am luck enough to remember having the old blind milk cow, fresh eggs from the coop, the smell of wood/coal burning to heat and cook with, and the kindness of a very loving family who knew what really mattered was each other. I have the good fortune to have had some of the "old ways" ingrained into who I am today.
I left my home to join the military when I was 20 and wanted to see the world. Well, I have that and now with retirement quickly approaching I am being drawn back to the simple/hard working life of my youth.
I have checked out many of the threads on here and am very happy to see others with my mind set. Thanks for the inspiration and I am sure that I will need a lot of tutoring on the "new ways" of simple living.
Best Regards,
John
