I ran across this website while looking for project ideas for old wooden shipping pallets. Man..what a wealth of information! As far as me, here's a little info:

I'm an US Army vet that served in Desert Storm, Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Kuwait and Iraq. I did my last 8 years in the Army with the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) in Fort Drum, NY. I was a paratrooper (Airborne) and I also served all over Europe for several years. After the Army I moved back to Texas, got my Coast Guard certification and Texas Parks and Wildlife guide license and started guiding for a living. It sounds like fun, but believe me it's hard fishing everyday for a living........well, maybe not THAT hard... ;).

Anyways, I just wanted to say Howdy and that I look forward to learning from the other members of the board. Hopefully, I'll be able to put my 2 cents in occassionally. By the way, the "Windknot Flies" handle refers to my fly fishing nick name and the fact that I'm a fly tyer....just incase ya'll were wondering. Take care everyone....

I was there 03-05 as well. My unit spent time on Anaconda, Spiker, and a couple other FOBs. So far we have the longest deployment for a 10th Mtn Unit (almost 17 months in country). Anyways, I was a PSG with 1-32. All we did was patrols and convoy escorts....lots of action. I'd go back in a heartbeat if I was called to do so. I have some of my former soldiers back down range and I pray for them everyday.

I certainly will continue to read through this site. I've already gotten some great ideas about the raised garden my girlfriend and I are building in the backyard as well as a new composting bin. Great info and I can already tell True Americans and great people to boot. :)
