I have a wife and 5 kids. I can drop the 400 meter target 7 out of 10 rounds. My two oldest boys are a better shot than I. My wife is armed with a sawwed off 12 gauge and a .45... But hey we are talking 2020. 15 guys you say. Well I have 7 dogs...catahoulas, mutts, and a shepherd. They will not take us by suprise. I do not believe that with just me an my 2 boys that are old enough to fight now that 15 is a fair fight for them thugs. I have taught my boys how to lay down covering fire, move and cover, etc. Paintball has its uses in life. 15 men means I have to dig 15 holes in the morning. But I have a tractor to help with that. Seriously, they get any past me and my boys, my wife is no pushover. Her 12 gauge holds 5 rounds and one up the pipe. I have taught her how to fire accurately and how to make a god aweful mess of the human body. I am not sure they want to come to my home.... maybe try the city...Country Boy Can Survive!

First off my WTSHTF cabin is underground and hidden. The neibhors don't even know its there. Second of all I have an escape plan that the family knows and an escape route that goes through a tunnel. I would rig the cabin with exsplosives and once the last man entered , caboom , no more problems. At this time we would go to a prearranged safe house after picking up our cache. Remember you gave me 10 minutes before they arrived. Probably at this time I would move my family to a real safe place then I would go on the offensive.

I believe that most folks of the self reliant sort have this scenario ingrained in their standard operational procedure.
I like the question though it tips the hand for all those who wish to read these pages.

1- home made claymores are easy ...so if there are 2-3 left unharmed after detonation then Mr Thompson will see to the rest of the threat.

2- Ammo supply I reload my own, nuff said 8) but.. still 33 inches of cold hard steel and 17 years of diligent training will suffice.

3- The mechanical and archetecture of the homestead will allow for cache of those whom are most important to myself and those who fort up with me while aggressive negotiation are in play.

4- Certain I am up to the point of armored brigands and their vehicles that the only real threat to me and mine would come from those with the toys to do their job from a great distance. I do not forsee clans of armed hungry lawless tyrants hauling around 105s or even having access to airborne delivery systems.

Heavy logs covered by 2x6 covered by heavy roofing paper covered by pool lining and then one and a half feet of earth. There is a good book that tells you how , then I did a few modifications. The books name is ( The $50 & up underground house book by Mike Oehler ) He gives the basics but there are a lot of better ideas because of better techknowlagy today.

I suppose I can understand your philosophy of 'fight to the death to protect yourself and your loved-ones' but, having no weapons, I was thinking of the alternatives.

I have mine, more a subterranean, than an earthship, already designed. I even made a 3D mock-up to see if the lighting on the two levels would work like I had imagined...it did and was beautiful!
That is my ultimate dream - when I can afford it. *:'(

I've got 500 tires at my property just waitin' for someone to pound them! *I was just getting ready to start my Earthship when I was arrested on November 9, 2005. *I've known about the Earthships since the early 1990's. *I bought all three of the Earthship books and a video. *Looks like you've got a good floor plan going there.

Ya there is one situation and thats when the first bad guy walks through my door and just before I bolt I would do one of two things. #1 walk up to him and jam it down his throat #2 use it like a suppository but would be harder to do. Oops , there is a third way. Sprinkle it on some chocolate chip cookies with a nice cold glass of milk for the intruders. ( not you Santa just the bad guys )
