View Full Version : Looking for northern Mainers
Ever since I was a kid and I learned how to read a map I've wanted to live in the logging country of northern ME "where the towns have no names".
Is there anyone on here from there?

I was born in bath maine 84 years ago, and lived in that state until i was about 8 or so, and left the nite that ellsworth burned down, so missed the fire and the destruction of our former home.
Some of my happiest memories were about my early life in maine.
My father and his brother brought the first radios to one section of maine, and his brother had one of the first broadcasting stations.
Sorry i can't answer your question, but i just had to tell you that there is one maniac on board here, at least.
love, alma

I'm near Presque Isle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presque_Isle,_Maine)
If you're planning to relocate, consider Allagash Village, west of Ft. Kent. or Eagle Lake below Ft. Kent in the St. John Valley.
on edit...Shin Pond near Patten could also be a consideration. Has a float plane base, and it's the end of the line for power, and phone lines.

hello, frostbite...
Your nic sounds familiar somehow... *??? (Are you a newbie "borrowing" an old handle, or are you the one and only? Doesn't matter, see the sidebar. By their fruits... *8) )
Farewell, unclesam. Will miss your posts. You had some good ones after the smoke cleared from all the trolls. Guess this means I gotta carry on the airgun as a survival tool debate on my own... *;)
