Yes, I left this site, but it bothers me to be maligned across the web by such honorable folk.

Don't quite get the issue around nasty PM's, is it sort of like shining a light on cockroaches? Is it ok to put sweet face on one side and nasty abuse behind closed doors? I've never found that silently tolerating abuse pays off, except for those dishing it out of course, they really get upset if the truth escapes. So if we ever meet up again on this world wide web or otherwise be assured that any abusive private message will be posted for all to see.
So BHM is a dead forum? No small wonder when the bottom three boards are spammed with three times the topics as anything useful. And funny how thousands of those posts are by the same six or so people. But oh yeah, post count is a symbol of seniority and power some how...
When are those very people who complain about what a horrible place this is realize that they are part of the problem? Probably never, I am convinced. It's evil nasty people like myself lording it over garden and tractor forums that was driving this place into the ground. Well, I think too much of it to have that happen and so I left. I return for this post - probably will get deleted since the light is a bit to bright but at least I will have tried. I tried by being part of the solution here but there is a limit to what I am willing to sign up for, after all it's ONLY a forum. I'll take my stand closer to home. By the way, I worked several nights to remove my posts but it was a huge task, you will just have to suffer through the rest because Oliver asked me to leave them.
DM and BeePipes and AA, you have been referred to as my "pets" (at least you are the only people I think they might have been referring to), though I considered you friends. I am sorry but as I told Oscar et. al. months ago, I simply don't belong here. I want to help people grow their own food and choose their livestock for self sufficiency. I want to help them not struggle as I had to figure it all out. If humanity doesn't start thinking in sustainable terms there won't be much left to argue over anyhow. I've found another avenue for that on the net were I am not hunted down by those with some kind of chip on their shoulder.
I went to visit my aging parents this fall and would not get onto this forum on their PC because I didn't want to scare them to think I was into some weird cult stuff. The internet has changed so much over the past 4 years and people don't treat each other the same on line as they would face to face. It's a shame. Or maybe you all do walk around every day threatening and bashing people and ideas. :o
Terranaught and his wife stopped by the other day and since I now work from home I was able to give them a tour of Deberosa. In the old days I could welcome to my home people I met only on the web. I had never met either one before - two strangers drive up and he introduces himself as Teranaught... Seems they didn't think of me as such an evil person... They are campaigning for Ron Paul and gave me some stuff to read.
Right now I don't even think I will vote for Ron Paul, because if he thinks so much like the people here on these political boards that is truely scarey to me. Maybe you all need to think about how very many people have wondered into this site and thought the same thing either about self sufficency, gun control, religion, or Ron Paul. You are alienating the very people who could possibly swing the way this country operates, with their vote. Or maybe the object is not to really improve anything, but rather to destroy???
I spent a considerable amount of time developing posts for the gardening and livestock sections, as DM continues to do and he doesn't get any appreciation for it. It's sad. It's far more important to post link after link after link to obscure news feed sites about the same things. And somehow those links are more valid than the junk the rest of the media posts?
I leave with one suggestion - take the political and religious boards off of the last 50 postings. That way it will leave those who want to bicker where they belong and new people and those with no interest in witnessing such stuff will be spared when checking what is new on the forum by going to the last 50 post section. I notice that the "Gulch" with the non moderating moderators. ::) has done that. As I have kept repeating ignore does not work when the posts remain in the last 50, but eliminating those few boards would make it work quite well.
To my few friends here - Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for the New Year. You know where to find me. I already miss learning from you but there are others that find that unpleasant.
