Since I've had the winter pictures up for so long, here are a few of our place in the fall (my favorite time of year) and summer. Just so nobody thinks we're under snow forever. ;D

Wow... awesome! I'd love to have a place like that.

Any chance on seeing some larger sized ones? They are absolutely beautiful!

They were full sized but were somehow compressed just here on Backwoods Home.

Awesome pictures ;D!! Simply looking at the pictures is enough to fill one with a sense of peace and wonder. I can only imagine actually living there. Thank you so much for sharing them with us!

Mistyriver , if my memory serves me right , don't you have a good population of bears there and a griz now and again ? The 20 we live on now is too populated but up at the cabin it's not uncommon to see a bear at least once a week. I haven't seen any griz but it's not impossible since were only about 1/4 mile from Canada. Fall is my best time of the year especially if we have an indian fall. Great shots of the place.

Yup. Here's a young griz from a couple of years ago. He wandered on through without causing a ruckus. The black bears are more trouble but the Pyrenees keep them moving on.
The biggest troublemakers tend to be the moose who LOVE to go thru fences and gates to get to the horse's salt blocks. Here are some moose on the river during a snowfall.

What a beautiful place you have. It looks like the paintings I saw hanging in the art gallery in Arizona
when we were there. :) It must be really awsome riding or going for a walk there.

Then you've no doubt been to Silver Mountain! Kellogg grown any in the last ten years? Back in the nineties, we could get an all day lift pass for 14 bucks!

Kellogg is a little over an hour south of us. Schweitzer (in Sandpoint) is the local ski resort. We haven't been to Silver Mountain but we have been to the gold mine in Kellogg on a homeschool field trip. I think everything is slowly growing!

Sandpoint! Never been. If I remember right, you guys have lake Pond Oreille there?

Some of the prettiest country up there. Congrats.

Gorgeous.

Someday we'll get out of this fishbowl of a house. We live in town, across the street from the school on a corner in an old church. If I could pick the house up...move it to about 10 acres AWAY from here, it'd work out GREAT!

Someday.

Thanks for sharing.
