...and I'm not talking about adding onto the house. My wife and I just found out that she's pregnant with our first child!! ;D

She has her first doctor visit this Friday, but we've roughly calculated the due date to be around December 11.

Any idea how many diapers I should put in a BOB? How do you can homemade baby food? ;)

Well for the first six months the baby has a build in double barrel supply. ;) ;) After that just put anything you want into a blender and whirl away. My son's first real meal at 6 months was ham and pinto beans purred in a blender. He'd had mashed potatoes and gravy but no baby cereal or store bought baby food.

Diapers - a blue gillion. REally, at least 6 dozen because you will probably use 2 at a time and then you will use them as spit rags, etc.

as to food - nurse that baby if she can and then just mash up whatever you are eating and feed it to them when they get big enough to show interest in it - God made forks before he made blenders

And congratulations - my first son was due on Dec 11 - of course he was way late and his habits have never changed.

Babies are always a wonderful blessing...having the first one is probably the most amazing experience though. The day my first was born is probably still the most fun day of my entire life so far! :) You can never believe until that baby is born how much it is possible to love someone.
