Hello,
Do any of you make rustic or primitive furniture? I am looking for some plans or ideas.
Thanks

I saw a chair cut in the shape of an over stuffed chair. cut out with a chainsaw. very cozy.

Woodsman,
One of our on-the-shelf reference books may be of help to you, it is common, and therefore not slated for restoration.
Rustic Carpentry, Paul N. Hasluck. Cassell and Company LTD, 1907.
It is common as it was reprinted by skyhorsepublishing.com.
Rustic Carpentry, Woodworking with Natural Timber, Edited by Paul N. Hasluck, Introduction by Ralph Kylloe. Sky Horse Publishing, 2007, ISBN-13:978-1-60239-121-5 and 10:1-60239-121-1. $15 ballpark.
Another you might want to check out is Manual of Traditional Wood Carving. Also by Hasluck. It is not 'rustic', but is a popular one judging by the checkout records. I just saw a reprint on eBay.

hey - i know this doesn't answer your question directly, but i enjoy making furniture in my little shop at home. i always go for the free plans and modify them as i see fit. i also appreciate simpler styles - rustic, shaker, amish, etc
i've found that this site:
www.freewoodworkingplan.com
has tons and tons of plans. thousands.
they dont' keep the plans on their site - they categorize and link to other sites. so once in a while, they have a dead link. also, you have to watch out, because they have a lot of advertising onsite. that's what you get for it being free i guess.

Thanks Jakeleg,
Have you seen or heard of a dining chair plan that uses 2x4 lumber? Like a really simple chair. I thought I would ask, I am about to go to work. I will search in the morning.
