I have purchased a treadle sewing machine, and the top lid is in need of repair. The wood is "bubbled up" in spots. Anyone tackle this type of problem? Any and all suggestions/comments appreciated! :)

Sounds like the glue holding the veneer has loosened so if its still good then clean thoroughly and re-glue and weight down until its dry and set. Should hold for quite a while if cleaned and redone properly--ha
Probably a good rosin type glue as it will be good in a porous area like you are going to have under the layer of veneer I think.
