I am cheap. What can I say. If I don't find what I am looking for I'll shell out the money for the plans located at http://www.canracks.com/
A kind member at another board provided the following link:
http://www.drzero.org/temp/pantry1.pdf for a vertical canned food storage, which I will probably use, but I am also looking to create some horizontal (for deep shelves) canned food storage shelves.
Any links for free plans? I know I saw some in the mid 1990s!
Thanks!

Why can't you take the links you have and the space you have available and draw something up? Seems like you have the basics covered. Using your canned goods and some measurments, you can finish that off in no time.

I've been doing some inventing if you will. I was looking for a way to store food in a small area and I though those things they have in grocery stores would be great. But after i started looking for drawings and such and looking at prices I figured I would do it my self. Here's what ya need:
1. Elmers glue
2. Sharp knife
3. Ruler
4. Card board boxes
I checked to make sure that the glue would work, it does. to make one cut out two rectangular pieces with the length being the length of two cans plus the width of the can x the Number of cans plus one inch. the height is the number of rows of the cans plus the width of one can. Next cut a length of cardboard the width of the can plus one inch wide and the length being the same as the width of the number of cans (minus 1) in length. these will be the sides and the "ramp" that the cans will roll down. you need to cut at least as many of these strips as you have rows of cans.
I don't have any pictures but you fold the cardboard sides so they are the desired width and length, there's a half inch overlapping for glue on the sides and complete overlap on the bottom, there is no top. You go ahead and bend the strips so there is a half inch bend on each side to glue. all you have to remember is to alternate the direction of angle and where the drop opening will be. I started to put one together but tshtf and I need all the boxes I can get my hands on to move. so I had to put it on hold. I hope my idea helps.
