I would appreciate your alls' opinion on this. We had some Amish pour a slab and lay up cement blocks for us. the Northwest corner is totally below grade in the back, from the southside you can walk in the building. In the Northwest corner we have a storage root cellar. All around the periphery of the building we have the customary drain pipe and gravel.
so, we finally get some rain and suddenly, there is an inch of water in the root cellar, it does not look like it has come in from the sides as it is dry along the walls.
Is there anything that can be done to provide some drainage at this point? Would it make sense to dig down to below the foundation and insert a drain pipe that leads away from the building?
