Saw an article on this in the 3rd year anthology. Purchasing a house that is going to be torn down for some super highway or wall-get for pennies. Then hiring a moving company to pull it to your property.
Comments or criticisms?
Thanks

I have a friend that did that. He cut down the walls of the second floor to make the house "shorter".

It all depends on how far you have to go, and how many Power Lines have to be removed to get it through.

Sometimes it's more costly moving than it's worth.

It mostly saved my friend time! The time of building the house, vrs the cost of moving one.

We did a 3 mile move on 1200 sq. ft ranch , only had 2 short drywall cracks on the initial move, then the house sat on our property 3 months before we got the block basement done, moving it the last 60 feet we got a 4 foot crack in a joint, all easy fixes.
When we were putting it back together we fell under "pre-existing" So we got to skate on some things that would not be code on a new construction...
Agree with Davidoh an easy travel route is a most to keep cost down.......
