The last owners had a chicken house and yard that had fell into disrepair. The roof leaked, boards were rotting, etc. We wanted to raise chickens, but needed to fix the structure.

If you right-click the pictures and select "View Image" it appears a little larger.

Battons going on - green lumber construction technique. Hinged storm windows in place - made from scrap lumber with plastic stapled to frame. Open door leads to open yard.

Covered run leads to covered yard - dogs watch month old guinea keets.

The building is divided into three areas by wire wall and doors. One is storage for feed and straw. The central is adult, range birds with a door leading to an open yard. The peopel door enters into this space also. The third is the nursery, with it's own door leading to a covered yard.

The roof has a decided roller-coaster line to it. I'm sure a lot of you folks have stuff that could put this shed to shame, but for my first attempt at construction I am happy. When I started getting carried away, my wife would have to remind me "it's only a chicken house"

Regards,
Pat
