Hello,

I am going to use a through shaft electric motor to make a grinder/buffer from. I removed the motor from a window a/c with a bad compressor. The motor was running when I took it out a few weeks ago. There is a black, brown and white wire. Can someone tell me what goes where. I have done some electrical stuff, but it only had 2 wires. I am sure there are more wires because of different speeds.

Thanks

I would guess that the white is neutral, the black hot, and who knows what the brown was. Was there a start capacitor for the motor, it could go between the brown and neutral.

Kent,

You were right. I had to use the capacitor. I have it working now.

Thanks
