I'm looking for plans or an idea for building a duck feeder. Any suggestions? ???
I'm sure this is too late, but i just happened to see it...
When i was a kid, we always had a LOT of ducks. The feeders were troughs made from fairly heavy galvenized steel about 3' long, 4" wide with sides that were about 2-1/2" tall... They had a handle that ran full length that attached to the ends.. It's purpose was to keep the young birds out of the feed and it would spin to discourage them from sitting on it. I've also seen the feeders with heavy wire running length wise too, as later ones were cheaper made
You can fine them used all over around here if you take the time to look, but i guess that's not the case where you live.
"If" i "had" to make some of them, i'd start with a piece of rain gutter and screw it down to a board, put ends on it and rig up some small pipe on it lengthwise to keep the birds out of the feed.
You can double things to beef it up where needed!
