I'm looking for some opinions from those that own one. Decent gun for the money? How about the trigger?

I guess I am not familiar with this, is it a rifle?, Cal. or what?

P.S. O.K. I looked it up, found this:

This is the rifle imported from Russia. TOZ-78

I know that Soviet Partisans in WW2 use to us something like the wildcat but it was a single shot bolt rifle. I think it was made by the same company "TOZ"

Ive seen then at gun shops and shows but never picked one up. I saved a little $$$ and picked up the Savage below.

Thank you Mr.B. That's actually kind of funny, I've had my eye on that Savage too. How do you like the gun?

Well I really like it. I mostly picked it up for hunting small game and of course plinking. Ive taken small game with it at a range of 75 meters.

Im not sure where you live but I picked mine up at
Wal-Mart for $117, which I feel is a steal/deal cause most older used single shot .22 rifles in my area start out at $100.

Ive been shooting Mosin Nagants, Mausers, & Lee Enfields for years & I would say the only thing I had to get use to was how light weight the Savage is. It dose come with a synthetic stock. I can sling it on my shoulder and walk around the woods and forget about it being there.

I would say if you looking for a light weight, handy, accurate, affordable .22 bolt action rifle Id go with the Savage I mentioned above.

Thanks for the info B. I made a call to the local gun shop and they have one on the shelf, so I think I'll drive down and take a closer look this Saturday. Thanks again.
