That's a BMF Activator, I think. There have been others produced over the years. Here are some reviews from Cabelas site... http://www.cabelas.com/prod-1/0005765223017a.shtml
Many years ago, I trashed a 10/22 bbl because of this thing. It got TOO hot TOO many times and wouldn't group at all. It was Great Fun! *:D
If you get one, get used to buying ammo by the brick. *:o

Yea, I was waiting to see if anyone would mention BMF Activator.
Got mine in the late seventy's.
Unless they have changed the crank , don't try it on an M1 or Mini-14 or the bolt handle will smack your knuckles on each up and over crank .

If it is in a pistol grip stock, you can do the same thing (vitrually) with a piece of 550 cord, the difference being, once it starts, it doesn't stop.

What a toy! Reminds me of the Calico 10/22 kit I got to play with years ago. Basically two 10/22's mounted on a tripod with 1 crank to 2 of those activators on a cam. Talk about burning through some ammo! wow. I don't think that bald spot in the backyard grew back for a year. ;D

The crank lever makes this unsteady and inacurat.

The idea can be used with an electric motor of the type found in tape players which can be oporated from D AA ect batterie and a spring loaded on/off shitch to pull insted of the trigger. Making a much better device for automantic shooting.

I went and got the box off the shelf and the activator is not in the box.
I seem to remember putting it in an old mil-surp ammo belt along with a few other items for an AR7 , sort of like a “bug out belt”
If I can find that, we may be in business.

Wow !!! have not found the belt yet, but did find my Casio Forester watch and a 2 ˝ peso Mexican Gold piece from 1945

I will keep looking for the belt/activator
The box is still in good shape and is marked “Patent pending”
it contains the original instruction booklet and a miniature copy of the letter from BATF in regards to request of status, of classification of weapon it is attached to, Semi-Automatic or automatic. And note on request concerning Excise tax.
