For all you old Codgers that bought these and still have them, you can get some ammor for them now.
Eley and Centurion and someone else is now making 5mm ammo again. T/C is offering new part numbers for barrels for their Encore, and there are about to be some other companies offering new rifles in this caliber.
There have already been 300,000 rounds made and shipments will begin in March, or there abouts.

I still have mine and i also have about 17 boxes of the origional Rem. ammo for it too...

I knew it was being made again, (only one company is actually making it) and i'll probably get some when the rush is over... It's always back ordered right now...

It looks like there will be some new guns chambered for it again soon too. (besides TC)

Aguilla is the third person tooling up to make it.
Remington and Savage and I think Marlin are going to start chambering it again too.
I will have to have one.

Well, i'm hopeing that as more mfg-ers come on line, the ammo will get cheaper and cheaper...

I loved the way the 5mm mag. worked on game in the 70's and 80's, and the reason they worked so well, is because of the jacketed "bullet" Rem. made for this cartridge! It expanded well, but held together quite well too.

If the new mfg-ers don't come up with as good of quality of "bullet", the 5mm mag. won't be as good as it once was!

I have a left hand version of the origional Rem. rifle, and i plan to start shooting it again! I do believe it's the only one like it ever made...

I have a friend who has an original rifle that he converted to a centerfire. It shoots great!

I never did the Craig conversions to mine... i just didn't feel the need to shoot my rifle that bad...

If your friend kept the parts he took off his, he can convert it back and use the new rimfire ammo... It's a very easy conversion...

I'm sure he does have the parts but with the cost involved for the new ammo I'm sure he'll keep reloading.

Bout 16$ a box, 20 is suggested retail. Saw some my cousin ordered the other day, fascinating little round. I hear the new bullet is a little lighter though, hope it holds up as well as the old one. Larry Weishun told me it was actually an awesome coyote round.
