I did a short search on the web for flintlock rifle kits, and nearly passed out when I saw the price of them! Anywhere from 450.00 to 950.00, for a kit! They used to be so cheap!

Anyone know where I can get some reasonbaly priced rifle kits?

Jim, If you have a gun shop of any size near you that carries used guns you might check out their stock of already assembled kits. Here in Albuquerque respectable modles in flintlock tend to be $225 and up. You dont get to put it together, but it ain't $500 either...

Here is a place that I found with some less expensive Kentucky styles in the midd two hundred range:

If you want a quality weapon go to www.dixiegun.com. *Chances are, if an American firearm was made for black powder they have it and the parts to return it to like new condition. *You need anything blackpowder, cannon fuse, stag horn buttons or the screw on the top of your 1865 Winchester lever gun's dust cover - they have it. I've been dealing with them as far back as 1967 with no complaints. Their catalog is thick and still only $5.00.
