Our local gun store (Turner's) is selling a Kel-Tec SU16 rifle for 570$. This rifle is notable because it has a hinged stock that folds the rifle in half for storage or packing. I thought this gun might be a good choice for a bugout bag. Has anyone here had any experience with this gun? Is it a great buy or a piece of junk? What do you all think?

I dont own that particular rifle. But I do own other Kel-Tec products and love them. Havent had any problems with them that werent operator error.
The plr-16 is a particularly fun weapon to shoot. Its basically a pistol version of the rifle you are looking at. And Its been a very reliable weapon and was worth the money.
If i were you. Id go for it.

Go to Ktog.org, it's a Kel Tec owners group with forums on every firearm that KT makes. You can get any question on the SU-16 answered there. It's also one of the friendliest gun sites on the net. Much like this one, there's no "my guns great and yours sucks" attitudes there.
