I'm thinking of putting one of those new tritium sights on the AR15. Any of you guys use em or give em a try? Any comments pro or con?

I'm not sure which sight you are talking about, but the Trijicons have a slightly different measurement than the gov't sights. Here's a link about it:

I'm not sure if this would change the POI, or not. Something to consider. If you do install them, just rezero your rifle at 50 yards, and you'll be good to go.

Tks for the come back. The tritium sight is primarily a night sight but they are really on the pricey side so I was hoping to find someone with some personal experience here before I drop my long green.

Sure thing. Let me know what you think if you go with them, they look good.

I have employed tritium nightsights on a Bushmaster Shorty, and they are OK.... honestly though I don't think the are worth the money you will put into them. I like them on handguns, for close in defense, but a rifle..... I didn't like them, and they are so small in diameter, they are not quick to line up. The ones I used anyway. Give em a try and if you don't like them, Gunbroker them and get yourself something else.

Got a buddy that just bought a Galil that came with the tritium sights, incidentally the same Galil I'm looking to buy. Anyway, I gave em a try the other night when we had a full moon on coyotes in the pasture. Seems as long as they coyotes were in the clear I was able to follow them on site. His Galil had tritium for and aft however, I didn't find the rear sight tritium necessary as long as I could keep the front post on target. Ordered a front post for the AR15, really looking forward to trying it on some bushy tails.

The set I used had a tritium front post, and two dots one either side of the rear night peep. Not so bad, but not so great, I think I would have liked it better had it had only the front post, so I could center it in the night peep, without having to connect the dots.
