Does any one here have experience with the scout scope concept on a lever gun? The sights, mount, and scope will be in excess of $300.00. I would like some feed back before investment.

I was just reading up on this a few weeks ago. I was looking at Winchester 94's and had the same question.
Apparently a lot of people do it and it works fine.
You could also find a newer lever action with side discharge and go ahead and put a regular scope on it. If you already have the rifle, the scout scope should work for you.
Never fired that particular setup, but I see no reason it wouldn't very well.

THey make pretty good products. You could also mount a red dot if you so desired.

I have a tasco red dot that I put on my Marlin .44 magnum from time to time. The red dot lets you keep both eyes open when shooting and makes getting on target super quick.
The down side is that it requires batteries to work batteries will fail when you need them the most it seems. The up side is that you can remove the scope in the field if the batteries stop working and go back with the iron sights. All of the forward scope mounts that I have seen require you to remove the rear sight. I have some mixed feelings about forward mounted scopes for this reason.

OK I have these sights on two of my rifles on the 44mag and 22 model 94 no worry about bumping the scope or batteries going dead and great price!
