Anybody familiar with the "7MM Medium" cartridge? I believe it is/was supposed to be an "assault rifle" cartridge, but I can't find much info on it.

Do you mean the British 7MM cartridge for their postwar assault rifle, or the 7X45MM which is a necked up .223 Rem.?

Jim,

I think it's probably the British 7MM cartridge for their postwar assault rifle. Do you have any info on it, i.e., case length, proposed bullet weight, muzzle velocity, b.c., s.d., etc.?

Never heard of it.
However, the 7mm/.223 wildcat is a staple caliber of the Metallic Sillouete(sp) crowd.....

No solid info, I just remember the ballistics being very close to the Russian short round: 124 gr FMJ at 2400 fps.
