Anyone build their own skid loader?

I'd like to own my own skid loader for use around the house to move dirt, firewood, plow snow in winter, etc. I can't afford a new one, and the thought of a used one that I could afford(less than $4000.00) conjures up something that's on its last leg and would probably not be worth the gas in its tank. I found a website one time where a guy offered some kind of kit where you can construct a simple skid steer loader for less than 5G's. I wish I could locate that site again or find a place that sells doi it yourself skid loader kits. Anyone know of such an animal?

there was an outfit called cadplans or something like that where kits and plans could be obtained -
"farm show" newspaper always has stories about home-made implements of all sorts - i believe you can find them on the net also -
